I have gone with E & L http://www.eandl.co.uk/wedding it's really easy to get a quote I think I paid about £27 I've read through it all and it covers everything I wanted it to cover
Luckily I've not had to use them yet.

Thank you, I had a good look around & I've gone with them too, they've got good reviews all round & were half the price of John Lewis!0

I posted on the first page of this saying I was hoping for 2015 and now I can officially post as we have decided on 9th August 2014!
Starting to put deposits on things and I thought I was really early until two caterers told me that they were already booked on our date! Madness!
Bit scared of buying my dress though, I found what I think is the one and at a great price but everyone keeps saying I'll change my mind by 2014! Eek!0 -
I doubt you will change your mind on your dress, find one you love and get pics of you in it on your phone and when ever you have a wobble have a look at it. That's what I've done.
Have you got insurance?

Hi everyone  I am so glad that there is already a thread for 2014 weddings. The future Mr Skippycat and I got engaged last year and are hoping for a summer 2014 wedding. We haven't set a date yet though
I have been very fortunate to have won a designer wedding dress which I am over the moon about as it's lovely and will save a lot of money :money: My parents have been fab and have very kindly offered to pay for the reception. I'm still looking to keep the wedding as MSE as possible though and am intending to do my own wedding flowers and bouquets after being inspired by this forum. My mam and I love cardmaking and crafting so hopefully won't need to buy place settings, invites etc either if we can make these.
I'm very much looking forward to hearing other peoples stories :j:j:j2022 wins include.... £1,000 cheque £150 ASDA gift card £250 Impericon gift voucher £100 cheque £100 of plant bulbs £100 Bower Collective voucher0 -

I was planning on getting married 26/04/14 and my venue were holding the date for me. There was a mix up and they let my date going to someone else.
Since then they have pulled out all the stops and letting me get married in peak season for the off peak price.
So I am now getting married the week later 03/05/14 which is bank holiday weekend so even better. They are throwing in chairs covers/sashes worth £300. Letting me have 60 people rather than 80 for the wedding breakfast. Should be a surcharge of £50 per head for the 20 people to make up numbers.
They are also including the bridal suite for free and its massive, 4 poster bed, chaise lounge, rain shower, roll top bath and old style chain pull toiletOfficial DFW Nerd number 227
Proud to be dealing with my debts!!!!0 -

I honestly hadn't even realised that insurance was something I'd need, what does it cover?

It'll depend on the package, but things like suppliers/venues going bust, having to cancel, accidents during the wedding, theft or damage to presents, loss/damage to the dress/cake etc. More info on the main site: http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/family/cheaper-weddings#insurance
I'd advise getting it though - of course sod's law says if you have it then nothing will happen, but better safe than sorry..."A mind needs books as a sword needs a whetstone, if it is to keep its edge." - Tyrion LannisterMarried my best friend 1st November 2014Loose = the opposite of tight (eg "These trousers feel a little loose")Lose = the opposite of find/gain (eg "I'm going to lose weight this year")0
