  • Sammylou - that's horrid!!
I actually have my dress already! It will not be current season but was amazing and had £1000 off of it!! I'd rather look fab on my budget than be wearing current season! I've had it put away at my mum's so I can't try it on and get sick of it lol :rotfl:

Take your business somewhere else! We had a very similar situation with a cake maker who couldn't possibly quote for 2 years ahead. I told her in great detail how helpful other cake makers had been (true) and told her that she could keep her quote.

Seriously how hard would it be to say, "our current prices are x however you may expect to pay slightly more by 2014"

Some people seriously don't know how to go about getting business xx

I don't think it will go out of fashion it was in a sample sale for £300 reduced from £950. So I got a bargain.

    That dress is beautiful!

And well done to both of you on the bargains, very inspiring.

A couple of people I've spoken to have said there will be a 5% increase each year, which seems about right i guess.

I do keep getting the 'really, you are planning now?' thing, but we've now got a 20 month hardcore savings plan, so looking at things & getting ideas is the only way to keep myself motivated I think! I'm getting pretty excited though, by this time next year I might already be unbearable! :rotfl:
  • Hiya,
I have been engaged 2 months and I am also hoping for a summer 2014 wedding :) I have been to try dresses on in two shops and both said they already had some orders tucked away ready for 2014 brides. You would think dress shops would know 2 years planning is pretty common, I don't think I would be able to get married summer 2013 as everywhere is booked up!
Apart from a rough idea of a date I have realised I have no idea what I want!! I thought when the time came I would be great at wedding planning, turns out maybe not...I am so indecisicive!

All I have left to do is get the rings, and suits and get the favours and do the invites.

Everything else apart from that is done.

Dingdong have a look in some wedding magazines to give you an idea, the better two are wedding ideas and perfect wedding magazine all the others are overpriced and full of adverts.

You don't have to have a theme if you don't want one just pick your favourite colours and go from there, I'm going for peacock colours as one of my customers has a peacock so getting the feathers for free it's just gone from there really.

I'm not having any bridesmaids as 1, I can't be doing with the hassle, 2, all that money to dress people, 3, the money can be better spent elsewhere.

Steph you are so super organised! How long has it taken to get to this stage?! How many people does your venue cost cater for? It's paying for everyones food that is crippling our budget!

We booked the venue in April this year I've got everything sorted since then. We have 60 for the day and 100 for the evening, the venue includes a 4 course meal, canape's, 4 drinks each, hog roast in the evening with loads of extras here's a link to our venue http://www.thurnham-hall.co.uk/

What I'm finding is the earlier you book the better discounts you get because people are desperate for the bookings at the moment.
