Yep! We are...planning on 16th May 2014.
I have a budget of £10k, but ideally would like it to be less than that. Am trying to find a lovely venue at the moment.
My fiance's brother has just announced his engagement too, so I've got bride wars with my sis-in-law to be! Lol.0 -
Please Please Please be careful who your booking I've found out the hard way.
The person I booked to film the wedding has gone bust. So the money has gone down the drain. Just remember that if something is too good to be true it usually is.

Sorry to hear that Stephb
Did/do you have wedding insurance?

I´m not officially engaged yet as I don´t have a ring and he hasn´t proposed lol! We have spoken about it and we´re looking at getting an engagement ring within the next month or so.
My boyfriend is a hopeless romantic......literally hopeless! I have waited 8 years for a proposal and had to bring the whole thing up myself. We have two children too and I would like us all to have the same name.
I am looking at March or April 2014. I wanted the 14th April as thats my partners dad´s birthday but it lands on a monday that year
We always seem to get lovely weather around that time of year and summer seems to be wet! Autumn is usually sunny too. So I won´t be going for any summer months.0 -
We're getting married Monday 21st July 2014 in Edinburgh.
Mega excited and super organised. Been engaged for a year and bought/arranged loads already. I'm going to be bored senseless for the next 2 years at this rate:rotfl:0 -

I hear that! I was never one of those girls who had my wedding planned for years but I had ideas I'd gleaned from having a student job in a hotel that did a lot of weddings and going to friends' and relatives' weddings, and OH and I had quite a lot of discussions about things like types of venues, food, first dances etc before we got engaged. So I'm fairly certain of the kinds of things I want - although equally there are lots of details that we haven't settled on yet - and I don't know how I'm going to fill eighteen months of planning when we come back from travelling!"A mind needs books as a sword needs a whetstone, if it is to keep its edge." - Tyrion LannisterMarried my best friend 1st November 2014Loose = the opposite of tight (eg "These trousers feel a little loose")Lose = the opposite of find/gain (eg "I'm going to lose weight this year")0 -

We got engaged a month ago and have already booked our wedding for Saturday 17th May 2014:j Civil ceremony and evening do all in same place.

Hello all! Got engaged about a month and a half ago and we're hoping to get married on our 6th anniversary- 23 June 2014! We would have liked to have got married next year but as we need to save, 2014 is more realistic. As my friend pointed out-this means we will have time to pay off different parts of the wedding rather than having to pay all in one go!
We've not managed to book anything yet, we've just been looking to get some ideas, but I'm aiming to get venues and a few other bits booked before 2012 starts.0 -
I'm glad you started this thread, makes me feel like less of a nutter being so far in advance! We got engaged last week & it's all systems go! I'm hoping for 4th April 2014.
Have already come across a few issues...my Mum is very kindly paying for my dress, as it's the only thing I'm not paying for myself I'm quite keen to go and start trying some on, but I've already had a run in with a local dress shop who won't let me go & try things on as 'you can't possibly choose a dress now, you will be looking at current season things which won't be in style in 2014'....first of all not one of my guests would have any idea what's current season and second of all surely that's my choice! Nevermind though, there are plenty of other dress shops who will happily take our money!
It's all very exciting though, congratulations to the other 2014 brides! :j0
