Anyone having a 2014 wedding?

Am planning for an August 2014 wedding!! No idea about anything yet, just in the fun researching stage! x0

So, we got engaged on 2nd of August, one month ago and I'm a pretty organised (some might say 'control freak'
) sort of girl, so we have; booked the venue & paid the deposit for a wedding on 7th April 2014, got insurance, put a deposit on the disco, provisionally booked the registrar, bought our rings and I've got my dress. Phew!
I keep getting people saying (in a slightly negative way) 'oh haven't you done a lot...very early on isn't it?', but we had talked about getting engaged for a while & I always said as soon as we did I wanted to set a date so that we had something to work towards, otherwise all that saving is just depressing! We've bought the rings on finance from Ernest Jones & I did that early so that we would actually own them by the wedding. My dress was heavily discounted, so we had to snap it up as I fell in love with it. Now we just sit back & hope time flies as we won't really need to do anymore for at least 6 months.
This could be the longest 19 months ever!! :rotfl:0 -
We've now booked ours for 24 May 2014 - look forward to reading through all your posts, should be some interesting tips and advice too.0

hi compbunny
i've got a real good idea of the style, main criteria is not strapless (so i've just ruled loads of dresses out there, lol) and preferably with wide shoulder straps or capped sleeves and not plunging at the back either! I know some women look great in them but I'm very small at the top so anything too low cut will lok daft, I'm looking for ruching or embelishment.
i've also booked to go to a wedding fayre on 30 september with my mum
hope you have a great time. x0 -
ps i love that signature, engaged to my best friend.
same as i feel about my future hubby x0 -
Ooooh can you post some links to things you like the look of?
Sounds really nice so far.
I'm very tall and (at the moment) very slim with stupid broad shoulders so looking at dresses that won't make me look like a goofy beanpole. Only thing I know is definately not one-shoulder, not satin all over (prefer lace embellishment) and no fishtails! Although knowing me I'll probably come away with something thats just that like this http://www.maggiesottero.com/dress.aspx?style=J1495&page=6&pageSize=36&attrib30=332&keywordText= :rotfl: (which would look stunning on some people but totally not my style)GC2012: Nov £130.52/£125

compbunny, I bet you'll look lovely. I'm not fond of the fishtail ones either and being a bit pear shaped, think they'd look silly on me.
the shop i'm going to tomorrow has got this photo on their website, which I like - but no price is shown
