Love the user name mrsdtobe - as my fiance is also Mr D, which is how I refer to him:) and also I have a dog called Toby, affectionately known as Tobe!
I can't wait to be Mrs D !
Hope today goes ok.
Steph, I agree with you about the site being a bit addictive, so many gorgeous piccies.

Venue all booked - only the local golf club BUT its cheap - £2k and this is for 40 for a 3 course sit down wedding breakfast with drink on arrival, one with meal and sparkling wine for the toast and then another 60 for the night reception with buffett.
jostenning I couldnt think of a better name than mrsdtobe as i really cannot wait to be Mrs D

We want to get married in August 2014 but I literally have no idea where to start! A lot of places I have seen have 'minimum number' of guest rules, we only really want about 20-30 people at our wedding. Any advice on booking somewhere a bit more intimate? x0

Hellooooo "soon to be mrs d"
that sounds great, it's so exciting when you actually make the booking as it seems so much more official - ours cost similar, around £2300 and that includes 30 to the cermeony with a 3 course wedding breakast and 60 at the evening buffet, to include dj and disco.
@cheryl, probably have a look at local hotels. the hotel we have booked is a small one (only ten rooms) and ask around, it's surprising how many people we have spoken to since booking that have actually got married at the hotel we've booked. You can't do better than good reviews and recommendations.0 -
Hi! Me and Mr M have been engaged since Valentine's 2011 and we will be getting married in July 2014 on our 10 year anniversary of being together!
So far we have booked our registrar, photographer, venues and marquee.
I have also bought some bridesmaid dresses (£7 each!!) however 2 of my 4 bridesmaids weren't hugely keen on them so may have to go back to the books with them.
Everything else we will work on next year.. it has been hard holding myself back having been engaged for so long however!0 -
hello soon to be mrs m!
that's wonderful, I bet you are so excited!
I think as you said, it will get really more exciting once we are in 2013 as we'll be saying to people it's next year instead of 2014.0 -
going to my first wedding fayre on sunday, there's a free goodie bag for every bride, so will be worth a look round even if it's just for ideas and inspiration.
it's actually being held at the first hotel we went to look at as our venue, which would have cost us £5000 instead of the hotel we ended up booking at £2300. So you could say that's very MSE indeed.0
