Anyone having a 2014 wedding?

feeling a bit sad today
tried to book the onsite accommodation for the night before and the night of our august 2014 wedding but it is already booked! Has well and truly scuppered my plans. I live 40 mins away from our venue and suffer from travel sickness. Didn't want to be walking up the aisle feeling queasy from traveling! Anyone know any nice accommodation near kingscote barn in tetbury that is suitable for bridal prep?

Hello to all the newbies! Sounds like eveyone's planning is coming along nicely
I've been pretty busy over the past few weeks, so here's a quick update...
Tried lots of dresses, loved one of the first ones and was pretty much the same as angel11, i.e. comparing every other one to it, so I went back at the weekend and bought it!!! :j Also got my veil and tiara. Just shoes to get now, and maybe some jewellery, then my outfit is complete.
Wedding rings picked, paid a small deposit and will collect next year.
OH, BM and ushers' suits, shoes etc picked and deposit paid - so they are fully sorted in the outfit stakes.
String quartet booked for drinks reception on arrival and during wedding breakfast - just waiting for contract then will pay our deposit.
Consultation with florist and stationers booked in for next month, have a pretty good idea what we want so hopefully that will be sorted out fairly soon. Will be nice to see which flowers are in season during our wedding month, and hopefully this will help control costs a little!
We still need to sort music for the evening but have a band in mind.
Cars and cake are probably next to look into, though we've started to get an idea of what we would like, and I'm also starting to research MUAs. Oh, and I have a bridal hair consultation next week too! Feeling quite in control!

Haven't written on here in a while! A few things sorted, managed to (in a very mse way) get our centrepieces free of charge from our venue by emailing them, you don't ask don't get! Seeing what some people have sorted out already though makes me scared haha!Started comping: Dec 08
Recent WINS: AEGON Classic tickets, face pack.
I would like to win in 2014: Money (any!), festival tickets, any wedding stuff and a hotel stay/holiday!0 -
I've always wanted a summer wedding, so it was never really an option to be any other time. But as we will want to go on honeymoon after, it makes sense to have it near the beginning of the summer holidays. I think I have perhaps given myself a week or two between breaking up at work to the wedding. Wanted a a couple of weeks to do all the last minute prep etc!
We debated a mid-week wedding as I'm off for the summer anyway, but I've got family all over the country, some having to travel from N.I and Scotland and some from down in Plymouth so wasn't really fair to expect them to take potentially three days off work. I was worried they wouldn't come then!
I was fancying a spring wedding but the venues we liked were summer venues. The reception venue we have booked is only operational May to September as it's a barn. The May bank holiday was already gone I think.
I finish on the Monday before the wedding. I am hoping we get a disagregated day to be honest.Debt free other than a mortgage but still always wanting to save money :j.
Busy saving for my wedding July 2014.

I finish on the wednesday and wed on the saturday. I think a lot of brides must finish work the day before so should be do able to do it. A girl i went to uni with had Hmie in the week before she married and finished on the friday. We were going to do spring but it was booked up more and i like the even numbers 28/06/14 :rotfl::rotfl:0 -
This is true
I don't think I could cope with the stress of working all week then the wedding at the weekend. That's the reason I insisted on it being during the school holidays.
Photographer - sorted.
Musician - sorted.
OH is off next week, so we'll do some more then. I am meant to be doing some of own work but keep getting distracted .Debt free other than a mortgage but still always wanting to save money :j.

Sorry I've not been on for awhile, have done nothing productive wedding-wise!
Really really need to sort out caterers. Emailed two during the week to as for info and neither got back to me  I find it easier to deal with people via email in the first instance (stops me getting flustered and I don't want to experience 'hard sell' tactics over the phone) but think I'd better just man up and call people. No idea what is a realistic budget, sigh. I'm just stressing about the catering as there are endless options and it seems such a big, overwhelming, important task that I'd rather bury my head in the sand and do some of the cute little non urgent jobs lol.
You sound so organised Sundaysgirl!! Very jealous. Oh and welcome to the newbiesPart time working mum | Married in 2014 | DS born 2015 & DD born 2018

Hello everyone, I hope your plans are coming together! I'm not entirely sure if this is the right place to post, but I'm getting married next year and wondered if anyone had any advice or experience regarding getting married in New York? There will be about 40 guests and I just don't know where to start!
Thanks in advance0 -
I'm really annoyed, I called the registry office first thing on Friday and she said someone would call me back within 24 hours guess what no one called me
I'm going to ring again first thing this morning god help them.
