Hi everyone, haven't been on for a while as shortly after booking my wedding last year my partner told me he'd been seeing someone else for 18 months.

I'm back as bumped into my first love out of the blue, fell in love all over again and am now getting married to him next year in August. Can't believe just how things have turned around in 18 months :)

Bluegreen and Steph - I feel your pain! I've lost count of the number of emails I've sent to suppliers (florists, stationers, cars, MUAs... the list goes on) which have gone unanswered. It's so unprofessional, and it's their loss as I have simply ruled them out and will take my business to people who can actually be bothered to acknowledge new business opportunities! Aware that unfortunately you can't be quite so stubborn with the registry office Steph!! :(

I've started a specific April 2014 thread since we're down to a year to go now and also I'm starting to lose track of who's getting married when, so hopefully see some of you over there, but I plan to keep updated with this thread too. It's actually one year to the day for me now :j

Im getting married in July 2014, it was May 2015 but we have moved it forward :) so far we have put the deposit down on the venue (in Greece) and got the bridesmaid dresses.

In the next few weeks we will be booking the accommodation and flights.

I've got my provisional date booked for our ceremony, have my favours bought, bridal jewellery bought, bridesmaid jewellery bought, bridal bouquet (posie) bought, almost ready to put down deposit for photographer, looking at dresses. This is for 30th May 2014.

Oh, forgot to mention, we are doing everything - ceremony, reception, photographer, decorations, food, dresses/suits/shoes etc etc for under £1k. :D

We got engaged New Year's Day this year and have just booked our venue and registrar. Now busy making bits and bobs, both for the fun and also to try and save a few pennies because we spent a bit more than we'd planned on the venue/food etc! So excited, over a year to go (2nd May 2014) but lots and lots to be getting on with!
  • Has anyone got any suggestions of what planning and prep can be done now?

I have put the deposit on the registrar and the venue, and my mum has already bought the invites which I will make up much later (far too early).

    The wedding is September 2014.

What else can I be planning?

strawberry_assassin I'm making paper daisies for my stationery, starting to get bits sorted to make bunting and recycling tins and glass chocolate moose pots into candle holders!
  • Cool, what about for the photographer?
