Your're definitely not the only one!

Ohh sounds like you had a good time looking at venues. At least you know that there is a venue you do like, though it'll probably be worth it to look at others just to be 100% sure!
I think that's the biggest decision so once that's been decided, I'm hoping I feel less all over the place!

:j It's always nice to come across something you didn't realise was there before, especially if it's useful at the moment lol You never know, they could have 'the' dress and it was near by all along! :D

Exactly! Will keep an eye on that wee bridal shop :)

How's your planning coming along? What time of year do you have in mind? We're hoping for Feb 2014 but just need to get my head around the drawbacks of winter weddings e.g. probably no outdoor photos.

    Hello ladies (and gents?)!

Can I please join this thread? Just booked our dream venue for April 2014 and so excited!! We had much toing and froing over dates with our venue and church (engaged mid December and been trying since then!) so it's a real relief to finally have a date set - and start planning all the fun stuff!

How's everyone else getting on with planning?

Hey Steph! We've gone for 11th - despite initially vowing to have a Saturday wedding... best laid plans and all that! What date are you?

Aww I'm sure you'll find someone in time - it's a Saturday in a popular month after all. Think we're just ahead of the game, still quite a way off!

Sounds like a plan to me!

Ahhh I love winter so I could quite happily get married in February. Of course, there's a chance of horrible weather but that could happen in summer too! In fact, my best friends brother is getting married this weekend. They've said as long as it's dry, they'll be happy!

Well, we were aiming for June 2014, but we've just hit a snag as my OH has been lost his job (well been fired-possibly unfairly dismissed, he's appealing and talking to CAB), but it means unless he finds something else soon, money will be tight. It could mean waiting till 2015 (which I do NOT want to do) or having the wedding 'out of season' (which I'd prefer!).

    p.s. Hi Sundaysgirl

    Hiya Squish :)

Have you considered having the wedding midweek too? With our venue we could have saved a few thousand just by moving the day to a Mon - Thurs (unfortunately most of our guests will be travelling a fair distance to us, so felt it was too big an ask getting them to take 3 days off work just for us!)

Worth considering though if it helps keep your dream month/venue within reach... Hope all works out for you.

  • Oh Squish I really feel for you, I know exactly how you feel my OH was made redundant in April last year luckily he got another job straight away he stayed there until christmas and got a new job for the new year.

Things will work out in the end love

    Thank you! :)

You're right, mid-week would probably be cheaper too! And I could do that as most of my family either work the odd weekends or are retired, same as OHs family. I'm going to look online again at the venues we like and see if there's much difference in the prices and go from there I think!

How's all of your planning going? Got anything good planned for the weekend?

Thank you Steph :) I'm hoping my OH will find something soon, even if it is part time bar work or something. Just going to try and keep positive and be glad that this time around that he has no job (he last had a temporary position) I'm working and not a student lol

Hope you have a great weekend!
