    Hi squish,

I bought wedding insurance before I booked anything as there is no point in buying it after you've booked something major like the venue. I went with E&L the prices wasn't bad.

At the weekend I got my wedding ring it's classed as a eternity ring got it for a bargain! Also got 2 bridesmaids dresses from bhs for OH's nieces but they are classed as guest dresses so they came to around £20 each after a discount code and quidco :)

How is your planning coming along?

  • Grrr, moved wedding back a year so we could get location of our choice, then get an email (cowards way out) from said location saying it's been double booked for 2014.... can't help thinking its a conspiracy!!

Anyone know any nice outdoor places in Sussex area thats not too far from Haywards Heath/ Brighton type area??
  • kacie: I've yet to go to any wedding fayres myself, but have heard good things about some. Which one are you going to? A local one?

Steph- Thank you! I will look in to E&L as the only ones I really know of are John Lewis and Debenhams at the moment!

Sounds like you have a busy weekend though! And it doesn't matter that it's classed as an eternity ring, as long as you like it. Never thought about looking in the 'guest' section for BMs dresses though.

I'm currently in the 'still researching' stage. Though I have recently bought a guest book and some star shaped tea light holders! xx

Justengaged- Grrrr that's really annoying! Can't believe they didn't know they already had a wedding on the same date! Sorry, can't help with the venues though, don't know the area. I hope you find something soon though!

Got engaged at the start of the month and have just booked our dream venue :j I orginally wanted 2015 to give us plenty time to save up, but an excited groom and parents put paid to that so it's 1st June 2014!!!
Been looking at favours and insurance tonight so getting a wee bit more excited. Now nervous as it doesn't seem that long away. Yikes

  • You ladies all sound nice and organised :) That's so rubbish about your venue Justengaged!!

I have had loads of ideas but not booked anything yet. Can't wait until we set a date as I don't quite feel like it's 'real' yet until there's a date set - anyone else feel like this?

Going to view some venues this weekend with OH and mum, very exciting :D

  • Congratulations scroogey! And don't be nervous, you'll mange it fine. If you count how much time you have left in months, it seems less scary than saying 'next year' I've found!

Kacie-Thank you for the link! Looks like a good one! Am thinking of going to one at the Excel in London (http://www.theukweddingshows.co.uk/) but want to see if my mum will come with first!

Bluegreen- I feel exactly the same as nothing is booked yet! I think as soon as I have a definite date, it'll feel more 'real'! Enjoy looking at venues this weekend :)

Glad to see I'm not the only one feeling like this!

It was fun, one of the venues we don't want to go with but we kind of knew that, only went as they were having a wedding fair :) which was interesting! The second venue is our favourite and still very much on the agenda, but we want to see a few more as the only thing we are worried about is whether it's really big enough to have a ceilidh, which is what we want ... decisions decisions!

Even more exciting, on the way back, we realises there's a small bridal shop near out flat, so we dropped my OH off and me and my mum went in and I tried on my first dress!!!!! Even more amazingly, it was rather nice on and I felt very 'bride-like' :D

Your're definitely not the only one!

Ohh sounds like you had a good time looking at venues. At least you know that there is a venue you do like, though it'll probably be worth it to look at others just to be 100% sure!
I think that's the biggest decision so once that's been decided, I'm hoping I feel less all over the place!

:j It's always nice to come across something you didn't realise was there before, especially if it's useful at the moment lol You never know, they could have 'the' dress and it was near by all along! :D
