I am thinking she means 'roadkill cash' .i.e. dropped cash on the roadside or pavement;)(at least I hope so.)Whilst in Dorset I noticed upmteen badgers by the side of the roads and they are HUGE but no matter how hungry I don't think even I could stomach one of those.
Just redone my freezer inventory and I have a lot more in there than I thought I had .I fished out a ham hock and that will go into the SC later on with the stock being used for soup.I have a feeling I have a packet of dried peas at the back of the top cupboard somewhere so I shall have a search for that later.Definitely day one NSD for me as I have an iron mountain to plough through shortly and by the time its done I think the shops will be shut :D
Have a good day everyone and keep your purse firmly shut if possible Saturday is the day the devil trys to tempt us all to spend a little;)
    Cheers Chums

  • Hello all! Didn't quite manage the 7 days, but had two lots of 3 days! :D (sort of anyway - had to top up laundry card but that comes out of my household budget!) Going to be good this week but have made plans for cinema, though orange weds so cheaper and have to order a book for college, which is annoying as had already got it and turns out is wrong edition, which they failed to tell us when I bought it back in January!

Have been to the market today and got all my fruit n veg for the week for £4.42 :D Also went a little mad in town and bought a sundress and necklace to match, some veggie bits in Holland and barrett (still flirting with going 'veggie'... hair dye on offer - superdrug doing 2 garnier for £7.99 or 3 for £10.99 :j and exchanged a bag was given for my birthday for 2 cute hair grips, a pair of earrings reduced to £1 and finally a new pair of slippers as my old ones were an embarrassment and health hazard as kept tripping in them! :rotfl:
I love food, hate waste and have a penchant for sparkly things ::D

Trying to find a work life balance...:rotfl:

    NORWEGIAN WAFFLES

    1 egg
    10g white sugar
    20g melted veg fat (cookeen)
    200ml milk
    3g salt
    5ml vanilla extract
    95g plain flour
    6g baking powder

Beat egg and sugar together - add everything else in and beat for 2 minutes with an electric whisk until very smooth.

I use about 2/3 cup for my plate sized waffles - and leave extra in the fridge for up to a week (beat well before use though)

And I have NO idea why these are "Norwegian" waffles LOL

  • Evening all!

Jackie, thanks for that, I had read yours and others comments on the Remoska thread and decided I should go for it now the oven part of my combi micro has died. Haven't tried it yet, maybe tomorrow.

Have been to enquire about a veg box scheme today which sounds v. reasonable at £5.50 for a small organic box, only drawback is that you have to collect, but the farm also supplies org. eggs and cheese, so I think we will probably go for it - want to try to buy more local but the farmers markets tend to be pricy.

Mini fast for me from Mon I think, to try to make up for the recent spends!

    Have a good evening everyone.

That is so funny......I can't even cook mince without going throught it first to make sure there isn't any veins or anything grusome in it.............the thought of me eating any roadkill is hilarious....more likely to do CPR on it...........lol.

However I speed read these too , or can't see it all due to doing it on a mobile.

CASH roadkill was..............nothing!!.....loads of broken glass around but no money......found 2p next to my car that wuda likely been mine anyway.

Had mum up today so made salmon en-croute and pavlova......well the pavlova ended up more eton-mess as it stuck to the paper.....wud that be as too much sugar in??....followed recipe but obviously depend on size of eggs.

Everyone enjoy rest of weekend .

Walk away from the purse..........(And any dead animals on the road!):T
Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.

Memory Girl Thank you so much for the recipe for waffles I shall test it out on my eldest DGS Danny .DD is due down this morning for coffee and to let me know how her evening went last night Her and her OH went to a ball held for their friend who has raised over 100K in memory of her late OH who sadly died of bone cancer 9 years ago.Jill his widow has been an amazing lady who set up the 'Mark Cross Bone Foundation' to help research into this dreadful discease.Mark was my DD's best man at their wedding and was only 42 when he passed away leaving Jill with two little boys to raise of 8 &10.She has done so well over the past 9 years and her eldest is now at Uni and we are all so proud of her.At one point on of her boys nominated their Mum for an 'Amazing Mum award' which she won and the little family went to Spain for a holiday a couple of years ago.Well done Jill I am so pleased you made your £100.000 for Mark
Well I redid my freezer list so I know now whats left in the freezer, more that enough for a few weeks and today is day 2 of the f/fast for this week.I seem to have a lot more in store than I thought .I have a ham hock simmering in the Sc at the moment I put it on last night so it will be well and truly cooked by now.Hopefully I will get some soup from the stock and some ham from the bone. The bone itself will probably go to my Dds dog when I got there for dinner later on this afternoon.
Right time I got a wriggle on and started making some cakes to take with me to said daughters house as my little DGS look out from Grannies cake tin arriving on Sunday afternoons.
Take care chums and have a good Sunday

Just popped into Mr T's on way back from visiting OH in nursing home. Did really well on the whoopsie shelf. Spent £6-00.

Freezer and cupboards still pretty full, so I won't need to shop at all next week - just some milk mid-week.

I'm going to review my herbs and spices though, will plant some herb seeds next week. I have a brand new ice-cream maker which was a birthday gift which I've not tried yet so might try it out this week.

Don't know if anyone else has found this but although I'm spending a heck of lot less we are eating very well - good healthy food, trying out new recipes etc. I've even been doing some home baking :rotfl:
