    I've been Money Tipped!
    Good Morning Everyone

BTW - meant to say to Catzine sorry you had to break your holiday - hope you are feeling better.

Thanks for the Poorman's Supper Recipe - I do a similar one with chorizo sausage. Cheap and cheerful.

Well I'm not going to manage 7 days this time.

Today is Day 6 and although I could manage I will be passing Aldis today so have decided to a do a mini top up - saving time and petrol.

If I am to stay within budget I have about £50 to last until the end of the month. I will have to go through the freezer and cupboards, do a menu plan, make a list and stick to it:rotfl:.

It's mums birthday today - need to buy her some flowers and take her to lunch - not counting that money as part of my budget though.

    Have a good day X

    Thank you!
yes I am slowly but surely getting better, putting more weight on my foot now which helps. Such a silly thing to do!

Oh Chorizo sausage would be lovely in that recipe! mmm!

We had friends round last night as I am still hobbling we went halves on a take away (so broke the fast) it was lovely though. I then madly committed to joining my friend on a diet! This might help me save money though as snacks are restricted, everything noted in diary so no munching on sweeties and biscuits endlessly! Today was also veg box day so I have plenty of fresh fruit and veg in. Tuna salad, I didn't have much salad in just lettuce, cucumber and tomatoes and added some grated carrot and some onion and cooked peas for goodness, jacket potato for carbs/fibre, stewed up some apples and a plum that needed using up for desserts! Tonight will be some yellow stickers fish fillets with some app foods cous cous and med roast veg.

Exercise is difficult but I am still shuffling up and down the stairs on my bottom so that should help burn some calories!:rotfl:
Our days are happier when we give people a bit of our heart rather than a piece of our mind.

    Jan grocery challenge £35.77/£120
  • NSD :rotfl: going to call it day 1 again as failed yesterday. So again goin g to 15th of month when DD gives board. (will need milk for sure and loo roll then.) just to get to day 5 will be a bonus.
Got half day tomoz so will hunt out more things for ebay and baking .:T
Been quiet on here today . Hope everyone ok .
Fiscal Fast = 7 NSD out of 9 days
    Avoiding the BIG4 = 12 days :) beg 5/5/12
    Shracknel & Road Kill Jar=£7.49 :j
All that i ask is a chance to prove that money wouldn't make me happy.

Well , what I posted yesterday ended up being wrong......didn't make 7 days strictly speaking as went out last eve for a pizza and beer with friends....so it was 6 days really. Not too bad though as have kinda been on this since I happened upon it really, spent £12 which came out of happy cash . Really wierd but yesterday got a huge bunch of flowers !! I have my suspicions as to who sent them , but I have this thing where if you know someone who is having a hard time they get a 'cheer you up pressie'.....whole point is you don't know who it's from as it's just for you and not given with the intention of receiving thanks........well I got one back!....karma
    :).

Keep going those on the fast

Walk away from the purse. :T
Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.

I have done all my shopping this morning and have about half of my monthly food purse money left, so frugality will be the watchword for me until the end of the month.Apart from fresh bread/milk next week I am hoping to 'fast' and use up my stores from the cupboards this month.I did an inventory and I have so much stuff unused that its a case of stay away from the shops and set up a menu plan to use some stuff up.My freezer has a bit more space in it than before my holiday, but my cupboards seem to be bursting at the seams so its those I shall be concentrating on this month. Its suprising what you find stashed at the back of the cupboards when you have a good turn out I have found lots of things that will keep me fed and away from the supermarkets for at least a fortnight if not longer.Onwards and upwards chums .
  • Well we keep trying but something always seems to pop up taxi money for hospital yesterday, so I thought ahh well may as well go charity shopping as well! Still cant drive! They wont let me incase I do a mischief! But I felt better by buying some kids clothes out of the charity shop! And a couple of bits. I think It only came to a fiver! So I was as proud as punch.
Shame the taxi cost me and Paul £40!!! As Teeside is a long way from seaham! My Car is looking at me rather sadly at the moment. mind u I am going to see my dad drive some sports cars round a track for his 65th! And they are buying tea!! So I might achieve one day!
Has anyone seen my last marble:A:A:A:A

  • Hi everyone,
not FFing at the moment, have had a couple of extra spends, one sensible, two not so! Finally ordered a Remoska, after literally years of thinking about it - should make savings on the elec. bill anyway.
Other 2 spends were a meal out and buying a dress in the M&S sale - was feeling a little bit blue, no particular reason for it, didn't spend a fortune but will have to be extra frugal before we go away next weekend. Spent £12 on food yesterday and plan to spend very little more before we go. Also re - arranged a couple of things to reduce petrol costs and decided to reschedule my dental appt so I don't lose hours at work. So, as Jackie says, onwards and upwards, feel better seeing I'm not the only one who has had a spend or two!

Lovely weather suddenly, will go out for some freee exercise soon. See you later chaps.

M/Millie I bought my 'moska about three years ago and its one of the best things I ever have bought .It saves me a fortune in 'leccie bills as I don't need to put the big oven on when I am cooking for myself or even if I have my friend visiting. Its great and I would be lost without it.Brilliant for quick meals as well.
I am looking for an easy recipe for waffles as I bought a waffle maker from a CS when I was away on holiday last week.It cost me £6.00 and I think it was a bargain as it looks as though its never been used.Anyone on here make waffles at all. Also I am searching for an easy recipe to make teacakes that doesn't involve a lot of kneading of the dough (my right arm's pretty useless when it comes to kneading) You know the sort that you toast and put butter on(dribble ) I had some delicious ones in a shop called Trinity's in Axminster whilst I was away and they tasted of cinnamon (my favourite spice) and I'd love to know if I could make them. Anyone here made teacakes at all.
This site is usually a fount of all knowlege so I always ask here first before trawling the net :)
well done to you all on your f/fasting by the way.I am back on the wagon again so to speak as I want to save my cash for my next holiday in August
    Cheers chums

I'm finding this very interesting! I usually have a couple of NSDs a week, but am inspired to give the whole 7 day FF a go.

Sainsbug's 27p t bags - I'm a real tea pot, and would only ever drink PG, but I tried the Sainsbug's cheapies after they were recommended on this board, and now have them all the time.

Roadkill cash - I've been doing this for years. The most I ever picked up in a year was just over £105, and two seperate years of pavement gazing brought in well over £80 . However, there's been a huge decrease in the amounts I've found over the last 3 or 4 years, down to around £30 ish. Maybe people are being careful not to drop their coins, maybe they are more inclined to pick them up if they do, or maybe more people are bothering to bend down and pick them up.

    Hi Everyone

Well this weeks spends came to £35 but as its only the 11th today that £200 max target for the month is not looking good. Never mind even if does go up to £250 (hope not) it's still better than the £400 plus I was spending up till I started doing this challenge.

This is definitely helping me to be a bit more disciplined.

I'm a PG girl so will have to try those Sainsbugs cheapies next time I need to buy tea bags.

I keep thinking about getting a remoska - I'm tempted. It's just the initial outlay although I do use my oven a lot and I'm sure the remoska would save money in the long run.

MRSWIVE..........roadkill ,you have got me thinking about this as years ago I started doing this but lost enthusiasm, and a lot of the time forgot about it. However I think you are right, there doesn't seem to be as much lying around at all. I think with this economic climate people pick money up now if they drop it,I know years past if I dropped a penny if I was in a rush I would just leave it,but now I wouldn't.

Your post has just reminded me that I am 'snoopdog sitting' (a dog) today and he is being dropped off at 7.30.....I am going to walk him first thing and see what I can collect going thruogh the village and past the pubs compared to what I used to find.

Operation roadkill this morning :j. :)
