Morning fiscal campers........NSD for me yesterday.
Cornflakes and chick pie with salad again for me,pie now finished so will have to maybe cook today when i get up,not really any salad left either......mmmmmm. will think about it later.
I have got a major desire for neopolitan ice-cream milk shake.....but no ice-cream......this always happens in the middle if the fiscal week, wanting something you cant have without having to spend:mad:. My brain does this to me on purpose.
I really need to stick to it though as it will be very hard to save anything this month and may have to steal some of the money i put away when paid as over the next few weeks i have a wedding, eurovision party, golden wedding, mma fight, and something else cant remember at moment what, to go to.............you go a month or two with nothing happening then everything comes at once:eek:. However i am wearing the same outfit to at least 3 of these.........in the past may have considered getting a dress for each:eek:. Just need some new jewels,as got nothing to go with dress........and dress was in last years sale so a bargain in itself:T.
Ended up last night finding first 10p road-kill (well office-kill really that no-one else claimed).......the 5p in a corridor (corridor-kill).....................so another 15p for the Kill-jar.
Welcome back jackie-o........................£32 for the meat......heavens........how big was it???.................although thinking about meat prices now in general bet it wasnt that huge.
Carry in the good work eveyone.
Walk away from the purse:TYep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.0 -
Hiya guys, sorry about the absence of late. I am just so darn tired all the time. Well I am trying my hardest and I mean that. But why ohh why does amazon have to be so cheap for dvds. I have beeen a very naughty girl. Since I am still resting and I cannot go very far without being worn out. I have resorted to watching good old DVDs and the little madam loves them to.
Still there is the may day fair near us, I am going to as it is for a very worth while cause and I may find some bargains!!!!! Like cheap tat lol.
then back to it, I managed to get little miss into a day playgroup as I have lots of hospital appoitments and I am not much fun to be around at the moment!!
Was that meat gold plated??? just wondering lol.............Has anyone seen my last marble:A:A:A:A

Hi folks ,no the leg of lamb wasn't that huge o.k. it was fresh and not frozen and in a small butchers shop not a supermarket but I too woukldn't pay that sort of money for one joint. For that I would want the whole blooming lamb :)I can feed myself on under £25.00 a week and eat well as well.NSD today as DD and tribe and I are going out on a picnic to Chartwell nr Westerham as we both have NT cards so entrance will cost nothing and Dd is doing the sarnies and I shall make the coffee flask.
I shall do my food inventory tomorrow when the boys are back at school.Back on the frugal wagon again this week.I brought home some lovely cheese from the food fair in Shaftsbury three different flavours Cheddar with cracked black pepper, cheddar with lime and chilli and cheddar with garlic and rosemary so most of my meals this week will be cheesy flavoured:).DGS and I had the black pepper one on toast for snack yesterday and it was gorgoeus I only wished I bought some more.My friend gave me a bacon and bean soup recipe which I want to make this week at some point as I have a packet of the cooking bacon from tesco's in the fridge. Its all tiny bits that will crisp up nicely I think and I will maybe make a quiche with some of the bacon and chilli and lime cheese.I love savoury stuff. On holiday we went into a small shop for a coffee and we had a toasted teacake that was flavoured with cinnamon and it was mouthwatering.I have come home with lots of ideas for some stuff we saw in Dorset.I am now searching for a Homity Pie recipe as I tried that as well and liked it.Well enough of this chat I must get a wriggle on.Have a great day everyone whatever you are doing
Cheers JackieO xxx0 -
:jMorning everyone and a Happy Bank Holiday to al! Well another spendy day yesterday - ten quid on veg plants tho I suppose they will pay for themselves hopefully.
Planning a NSD today tho doing lots of gardening and some planting up at the allotment. Also have a very busy week coming up at work so will not have time to do any spending. Am also re-inspired by reading everyone else's successes and learning from them all.
As Calicocat says "Walk awaaay from the purse!"2012 Saving challenge £1000/£400! Woo! :wave:0 -
Good morning all.
Happy Bank Holiday.
Having a quiet pottering sort of day, a bit of gardening, and a bit of decluttering to fill a Cancer Research bag that was pushed through the door.
Have just bought bread, so not bad for 4 days. Milk ok but will probably need eggs tomorrow, going to use the last two today to do some baking, still plenty of veg, maybe need some fruit tomorrow. Going to do a freezer/cupboard inventory today.
Jackie - I love your idea of copying food ideas etc from your trip to Dorset. I do this too - with food, interior design, clothes, restaurants etc. I have a mooch round, try things and then see if I can duplicate and adapt their ideas at home.
I need to start planting some veg soon - it's still cold here though. I did manage to plant some fruit bushes recently - fingers crossed they seem to have taken.0 -
Just popped in to let you know I am back! Well actually only managed 1 days holiday
I jumped off the boat to moor up and felt a crunch, pain and then realised the holiday was effectively over!
It's been xrayed, no breaks so that's good but very bruised and swollen. Now home and hobbling around on crutches for a while. We have to check our personal hol insurance to see if we can claim anything otherwise it will be £500 odd down the swanee! Needless to say dh is still very stressed which was why we booked the holiday - feel very guilty as it was me that ruined it! Ah well back to the fiscal fast etc., etc in order to save up again. We have an interesting aray of holiday type food to get through - frey bentos tin pie, b beans, bacon, sausages and such like camping like foods. Dh has bought a couple of takeaways and that has to stop now I can get downstairs.
Just managed to tidy up the kitchen so we can see what is what, clear the decks and start to cook from scratch again! I do hope everyone else has been luckier!

loose tea can be cheap and better flavoured. you can by little cages if you only want one cup. I'm quite stingy with how much I use-but if you leave it long enough it's strong enough to give a nice cup.
I am finding no spend impossible. There are little things I just can't avoid. Driving lesson fees, school fees for swimming. I dont need to do a fast but want to. I guess I'll pay unavoidables and just be creative with the rest.0 -
Hiya girls, went to the spring fare and found a table with 50p items on so I was over the moon. i did get a pair of brand new nike trainers as mine were falling apart for the princely sum of £1.99. I am tired now though. I hope everyone else is having a lovely day. Ohh the weather is starting to change just as the boys have taken the little lady down to see my friends horses and to collect some free honey from her.Has anyone seen my last marble:A:A:A:A

Sunday and Monday both NSD.
Gardening to keep busy and a good sort out and a pile of things for ebay, washed my wedding dress to sell as was shocked that it was a size 20 and is huge for me, won't use it again and have lots of photos to remember it . Been buying lots of reduced toys for xmas presents just because they were cheap not cos they will be any good for any one inparticular many only £1 (lots disney too) so sure I can double my money on ebay.Just waiting for free listing day .
Dawn 1980- I am fasting on food and non essentials. Need petrol to get to work and obviously rent ,gas and electric.Trying to cut back as much on these tho apart from rent.
Catznine- ow, hope you feel better soon , would be the sort of thing I would do. Cheese sounds nice..
JackieO- I love lamb but its only hidays and holidays as a treat or if its a whoopsie. Would want it to cook itself and be the size of an elephant leg for £32.. i put mint sauce on pork and pretend ...lol
Well done all, I love this thread .Fiscal Fast = 7 NSD out of 9 days
