    I'm out too.

Had sponsorship money to pay ( which I forgot about) and went and bought some salad items.

Still- spent a fraction of what I would usually spend so still kind of happy ::cool:

You are never out until you are gone kiddo, dont let just one day put you off;)....this is like a 'life-time achievement' thing for me:rotfl:

Well NSD today, had cornflakes, and have HM chicken pie and salad for tea here at work. This time the pie may end up lasting the designated 3 days instead of me guzzling it all too quick.!

I have 2p in my road-kill jar from today.this could take a while to get anything real worth talking about as it's actually training yourself to look down all the time....was much easier when walking a small dog as it was just natural to do this then.

Lovely n/bourgh gave me some strawberrys again bless him ,would normally have these with ice-cream but dont have any, will have to think what i would like these with now as dont want to spend anything and really go for the 7 days.

I havent made much impact on the freezer at all,as i keep cooking things and then making other things with left-overs and freezer back to square one:mad:. I am going to have to look at this and plan the empty the freezer thing and not cook for a while.....'operation get-rid and de-frost'. (I have been saying this for around a year now).

Keep going everyone,we all have lessonlearned to look up to for sure now after her excellent month!

Walk away from the purse:T (you know it makes sense)

Not spending means not eating any snails by mistake.....lol

    Aww thanks.

April's savings were really quite dramatic. I don't think I'll reach such dizzy heights again.:rotfl: I will definitely try to stay disciplined and focussed though.

My spend so far for restocking is around £125. I would really like to try and keep to a budget of £200 for May. I'll give it my best. I don't count petrol in that figure, again I will try and plan my journeys efficiently.

If I come under the £200 then what I save will be my "Happy Cash" - just for me - so that's a good incentive:D

Going to try and stick to local shops, markets, and farm shop for the rest of the month.

Good luck for May - keep the purses firmly shut.

Love the idea of a "road-kill jar". Apparently an early morning walk round a pub car park is quite fruitful. Trouble is I don't have a dog so I might look a bit suspicious. Don't want to get done for loitering with intent.:rotfl:
  • First thank you for your advice and all your support it is much needed.
Yesterday would of been day 5 but taaadaaa payday and needed to get petrol ect. These are really my essentials that I do require each 4 weeks .can cut back if possible but petrol , electric, gas and rent(not cutting back on that lol) as musts I am not including them in my FF challenge.
Yesterday was a good day as a payday when I tend to spend lots.
Night out last night I grabbed my change out of my purse (£12.80) and I have come back with £4.75. Was driving so soft drinks all night but still had a good time and a laugh which was a good tonic.
At work I bought8 pints milk, eggs, fabric softner,(was late up so no sandwiches packed:mad:) sanwhiches, crisps margarine, catfood monthly bits, baked beans and bread(reduced) which came to £8.23 after staff discount. Would usually of spent nearly £50:eek: just topping up .Bargain of the day....also had cornflakes at 10p a box as out of date and some packet macaroni cheese bake 10p a box (staff sales) so grabbed 50p worth of them too. (didn't NEED them but will be a good store at that price)
So today is day 1 (starting again ....fresh slate)
DD pays me her board on 15th month so going to see if I can manage for 10 days .
silly question but how do you put info in the bottom box(signature?)
I agree too this is so addictive.
going to try 2 other challenges mentioned in this thread.
The Road Kill Jar for a year(had to look this up lol just imagined bunnies and hedgehogs in a jar.....sick me) and the avoid supermarkets.
    :T:T:T:T:T
I am not going to give up...I want to pay off one of the 5 payday loans in the next month.
Fiscal Fast = 7 NSD out of 9 days
    Avoiding the BIG4 = 12 days :) beg 5/5/12
    Shracknel & Road Kill Jar=£7.49 :j
All that i ask is a chance to prove that money wouldn't make me happy.

Good for you !.....it saves you money and is really good fun.....and as you say supportive......really nice thread.

Re: box on bottom......no clue,I've wondered this. I have no idea how to use a computer really,do a lot of this on my mobile. I had to ask really thick questions like what are the red and green dods, what do stars mean, and how do I thank people (as can't see much of page on a mobile.

I may get a pooter in time, but worry about having more standing orfers going out for connection.....and most of all until I have my urge to spend better in control wanted to keep clear of the tempation of on-line shoppingnand until my nest egg is where I want it. But this shudnt be too long at this rate.

Glad you r feeling better about things, and keep going.

Hi, to write in the box at the bottom - select "user CP" from the green bar near the top of the page; select "Edit Signature" under "Settings & Options" and type in what you want and save (can preview first).

  • Well done trueblonde, stick with it! Hope your OH can help you deal with the loans.

    LL, brilliant advice and savings.

Freezer - keep filling mine up again too. Cupboards are emptier though!

My second month hasn't been as good as the first, but I'm going to make a real effort over the next 2 weeks - hopefully will be no major expenses during that time.

Shopped in Ald! yesterday, don't usually but had a voucher, spent £30 plus have a £30 App Food order on the way, these should see us through the rest of the month apart from milk, bread, f&v. Lots of veg now, so might make cauli and broccoli cheese tonight. Eating lots of curries atm - useful for finishing off bits and pieces.

Hoping for some longer hours at work these next few weeks - can't get much worse!

    Have a good day everyone.
