Evening all, decided today I really did need to restock a bit so spent just over £30 in Morrisons - no pumpkins, sadly - much picking and choosing plus had a £3 off voucher, but still came to more than ideally I wanted to spend. Still, plenty of eggs and dairy for the moment and some frozen Quorn products for standbys, also the most important food group - chocolate!
I have planned spend on Friday - haircut - and DD is likely to be home for a few days next week, so will just be keeping an eye on the pennies rather than FFing.
Good luck to everyone still going, keep posting!0 -

Hi all, sorry not posted in a while, unfortunately had an unexpected trip to hospital a few hours after my last post last week and only got sent home last night. I am going to have a catch up with the posts. On a plus being in hospital means I haven't spent anything at all so has helped with my fiscal fast (I am trying to look on the bright side..).
Hope everyone is keeping well speak soon0 -

Day eight and I do have to buy some veg this morning but thats all.I estimate it should come to less than around £4.00 which as my total outlay for the week sound reasonable to me .0

Thats always my downfall too but now I have started leaving my purse at home, and I think that they are now getting used to it. But when I do treat them, it really is a treat rather than expected which can only be good!October Grocery Challenge £4000 -
went to the greengrocers and got all I needed for £3.70 so I am a very happy bunny today (apart from my sore mouth where I had a tooth out yesterday) Lots of soups are scheduled for the menu over the next few days I think.I even went into Tesco's and as I had a voucher came out with a packet of choc chip cookies for my youngest grandson and a swiss roll for the older grandson (his favorite) and a packet of batteries and it cost me nothing as it came to the exact amount of my voucher
:) so free
:):)no more shopping now for hopefully another week.

Hi everyone, Secretstasher hope you are better now, bit of a drastic way to stop spending!
Well done all, I feel you are putting me to shame today as I am heading to the hairdressers - I have highlights twice a year, cost comes out of my personal stash - crafting money and tips from work. My other personal bits- clothes and toiletries - I keep quite low, so this is probably my main 'luxury' purchase.
I need to buy cat food - and have a £5 off £35 spend voucher for Lidl - I buy several storable items from there, such as peanut butter, muesli, oats and cashew nuts, so if I can find cat food there I may stock up.
So most definitely a spend day! But the unplanned spends are few and far between now, which is good, and money still set aside for Winter bills and emergencies. Years ago, when the OH and I were both in well paid jobs, I would spend without a thought, but I'm endlessly grateful to my thrifty mum now, and the good people on here.
Off topic, but there was a programme on ITV last night about cutting electricity bills - family featured used almost £3000 of electricity per year - most of the tips were things we'd all be familiar with - I was wondering, do people really not know this stuff? Or are we still a minority on here?
Anyway, well done Jackie, Erica, mam of five and everyone else not spending (slinks off guiltily....). Take care all. MM.0 -
Yes, thank you boultdj - I have had the Morries hot chocolate, but they were out of it last time I visited and often are!
To be honest, I do prefer the taste of the S**nsbury one, and you do get 500g for your money instead of 400.
Yesterday I changed my plans, and drove my daughter to the nearest big Asd*, and decided to look for bargains myself. Spent 58p on their SmartPrice hot choc, to squirrel away. Picked up several things that I knew I could not get as cheaply anywhere else that I go, so my cupboards are overflowing again. And I spent less than £20, so felt quite pleased, as I had three big bags full of food. This did include fresh fruit and veg, which I was running low on.
Back on the Fiscal Fast now for as long as I can sustain it. I do enjoy this challenge, even though I fall off the wagon now and again!Keeping two cats and myself on a small budget, and enjoying life while we're at it!0
