Getting professional help to beat debt. Diary

Not sure what is wrong with me this week. Maybe it's the post payday blues and knowing I have weeks to go until I can next pay anything off my debt again! I had been feeling really positive for a few weeks but now I feel a bit down in the dumps again.
I have however managed to get a few more nectar points by doing some surveys and my balance is now at £106!
I sold something on ebay this week. Just one item that I found and didn't want. I was hoping to get about £30 for it and only got £12 and then miscalculated the postage and it cost me £12 to post it! Aaargh!! I ended up only making a fiver as that is what he payed me for postage. Never mind.... I suppose its another fiver off my balance....
Off to count my spare change jar to see if that will cheer me up!
lol. :rotfl:

I think its normal to feel like that. I used to do what you did - do some surveys, adpoints, look at my spreadsheet lol.
How annoying re the ebay item! I get fed up with ebay too but I have stuff I could still put on and just dont want to.
I think the last stretch is the hardest because you have tried for so long and then start running out of ideas but just look how far you have come already. x0 -

Thanks LAM,
It is really hard keeping the motivation going sometimes isn't it? To be honest I'd be happy to never ebay another item ever again and the surveys are doing my head in. I wonder sometimes is it really worth it just to get a few pence... I know it all adds up but it's never going to add up to enough to make THAT much of a difference..... I'm not going to get out of debt a month sooner or anything through doing surveys......But at the same time, if you are in the right frame of mind it sometimes helps you because you feel like at least you are doing something. Mind you I've probably spent hours over the years just looking at my spreadsheet and convincing myself I'm doing something. Lol :rotfl:LBM 01/03/12 Debt £[STRIKE]27924[/STRIKE]

Not having a good few days with the car!! They are fine when they are working but a nightmare when they suddenly start needing parts and work doing! I have been trying to scramble enough money together for 6 months road tax which is due this month £110 and then on the MOT they advised rear brakes which I had just payed for yesterday at a not too bad price of £55 (but I had to pay for them out of my food budget!) and then it goes and breaks down on me! Got a friend who has a scanner to read the fault codes and theres an electrical issue which we think is still the wiring loom to the alternator from my previous issues with it and also an injector has gone faulty. Priced that up and it was just short of £200! Yikes!! And that's just the injector..... goodness knows about the wiring loom.... we still need to get that checked. And these are only the prices for the parts!! I'll still need to get them fitted!
Absolutely gutted as the only way I can pay to get it fixed is out of my next months debt allocation which means I'm going to have to add another month onto my debt plan. That means I won't get out of debt before my 40th birthday in March which means I can't afford to do anything to celebrate it! Groan! Going to try and research a few options and do a bit of ringing round today to see if I can sort out anything cheaper! Wish me luck!:(LBM 01/03/12 Debt £[STRIKE]27924[/STRIKE]

oh no! did you manage to sort anything out. its so annoying when something like that crops up to mess up the spreadsheet and DF plan isn't it?
My car cost a fortune to get through its last MOT but luckily a friends son did all the work and I just bought the parts. I figured in the end it is a good car and I know it if that makes sense. I couldn't afford another one anyway so I had to get it done.0 -
Well In the few days that I have been trying to work out how I can afford to fix my car, it has started working again and I haven't had any problems. The wiring still needs fixing but hubby says he can do that. I had put a fuel treatment in when I filled up last week and one of the lads at work said it could have just been that which was the problem, maybe it dislodged a bit of muck in the system and it temporarily blocked an injector. The day after when it kept breaking down, hubby was going on a long journey and used half the tank of fuel. He topped it up for me on the way back and it has been ok since..... so it kind of makes sense that it may have been the treatment. Just keeping my fingers crossed that it stays ok.
Got my Nectar points up to £109 this week by using some extra points vouchers etc..... Other than that not much going on in my world of debt busting! Just looking forward to my next pay day in a fortnight and hoping that I pay the correct credit card this month! Lol!
Have a great weekend! :TLBM 01/03/12 Debt £[STRIKE]27924[/STRIKE]

Had a nice surprise today! Checked my online banking and £80 has appeared in there from BT! We had some issues with our internet for a while now and after their engineer came out and found a problem they offered to refund us for the months we were affected and on top of that we had overpaid due to our monthly direct debit being higher than our calls etc. We thought they would just leave it in our account as credit but they actually paid it back into my bank! A right result as my car tax is due this month! If I just go for 6 months tax I now only need to find £40 and it's paid! :j:j
Went out with the dogs yesterday and found a load of blackberries, also some apples and then a plum tree that was dropping plums all over the path. Came back with a bag of goodies and spent the afternoon making things with my finds! I was so pleased with myself that I got overexcited and went online to look for books on foraging (i found some kind of nut tree and some dry blackthorn berries too but didn't pick them as I didn't know if they were ripe / what to do with them) and I splashed out £3.50 on a Collins gem guide to foraging!
I'm hoping the rewards I get from foraging will more than make up for the price of the book. I'm turning into such a skinflint but I love it! I'm addicted to the whole MSE way of life now! :rotfl:
Pay day will be here on Friday!! It's coming early due to the bank holiday but even though I'm happy its here quicker, I need to make sure I really watch the pennies next month as It's 5 weeks until the next one after that. I have 2 birthdays in September too plus my car insurance renewal. Need to be extra tight with my cash! :TLBM 01/03/12 Debt £[STRIKE]27924[/STRIKE]

Just sneaked on to update my signature. It's a bit premature as I don't get paid until Friday but I got my wage slip and found I had a good bonus this month and decided to work out what I will be paying off etc on my spreadsheet. Thought it was pointless waiting until Friday to do my update when I know where I will be at already. It is soooooo exciting now. Each month is getting me so much closer to the end!!:TLBM 01/03/12 Debt £[STRIKE]27924[/STRIKE]
