Getting professional help to beat debt. Diary

I have been having a look at my "where my money goes" payday spreadsheet tonight. I deleted the debts and replaced with a short term savings and a long term savings column. I have decided on having one account that I pile as much as I can in and leave alone and another that I put a bit in each month and leftovers from my monthly bills budget. The short term one will pay for stuff like clothes, meals out, treats etc and the long term one I will try not to touch. I just need to look into what type of savings account to get now. This is all new to me! :rotfl:[/QUOTE]
this looks like a solid plan to me. I have set up two savings accounts even though I still have debt, it should stop me accruing new debt. I have a post office savings for car related expenses and another one with my current bank for holiday/christmas savings..0 -
Savings rates are pretty rubbish just now. Seems like current accounts actually have the highest interest. I have the santander 123 account.
It's not always necessary to have different accounts as long as you keep a spreadsheet showing what the money in the account is for. I have columns for everything, like clothes, misc, holidays, presents, car, dentist, etc. means I don't go mad spending my savings all on one thing. You do have to be disciplined though, but I'm sure you are after three years of debt busting.
You will find a system that suits you best. We are all different. X0 -

Thank You!!! Glad you enjoyed it! I am eagerly awaiting payday next week for the first wage I've had in 20 years that I don't have to pay any debts with! Yippee!! Good luck with your own goals!
