I think the offer may have changed now but I recently got Talktalk's £14.99 for 1MB broadband and off peak landline calls - service seems fine so far.
I also have a spare modem/filters for sale on ebay, which should make me a few pounds extra 'saving' Certainly the best deal I've seen.0 -
As a newbie contributor I've been with f2s for over 1 year and have recently ugraded from the 512kb uncapped to their Connect Plus 2mb / 50gb service for £24.99/month. They also provide a 2mb / 2 gb service (Connect Lite) for £14.99 / month & 2mb / 10gb service (Connect Home) for £19.99 / month. As an existing customer they waived the transfer cost of £49.99.
The main reason I opted for f2s was the positive reviews I read at net4nowt.co.uk and I was not dissappointed. As a disgruntled Onetel customer, the standards of customer service & technical assistance have been first class - So,in my opinion, it's not just down to dosh.0 -
Ive been paying £41.50 per month for TV family pack, phone rental and Unlimited Dial Up Internet with NTL for an eternity, having rang them to see about broadband they are offering a complete TV, phone and 1MB package for £39.50 per month, £2 cheaper than my current package (£4 cheaper come June). In effect this means that Im getting 1MB broadband for £10.50 per month instead of £17.99, which most people will pay.
Having been sent loads of literature on NTL pricing packages I never saw this deal anywhere, its only when I rang they mentioned it.
Just have to see if getting One Tel will cause confusion over the rental part of the package.0 -

Friend of mine was going to get this but then found this little gem hidden away
"If, in our reasonable opinion, we believe that your use of the Broadband Service has or may adversely affect such network integrity or may cause network degradation we may change your Transmission Speed or manage your use of our Broadband Service as we see fit in the circumstances. This includes, but is not limited to, any circumstances where you are running an application or program that places excessive bandwidth demands on the Broadband Service for continued periods. Although we have not applied a fixed limit or a cap to the amount of data that you may download and / or upload, we may also impose a limit on your usage capacity at any time at our sole discretion if your usage is affecting or may affect other users' enjoyment of the Broadband Service."
Whats an excessive period??.Another unlimited service thats limited.0 -

Mine was upgraded to 2Mb yesterday --- now I DEFINITELY need a faster PC with more memory, more disc space, more, more, more....... !!!!
I knew that 2Mb would not be available until they had completed their upgrade work.
They gave me an estimate of "on or around the 14th April " and it actually happened on 20th.
I got an absolutely FANTASTIC DEAL (well 2 actually)
Signed up on the 12 months Free weekend - 512k for £180 for 1 year. (£15 a month)
Free year made it 2 years (24 months @ £7.50)
Since I was on dial-up I had to pay the connection fee of £50, but got £10 back through splitting a referral fee.
Only a week later got the 2nd offer - Upgrade to 2MB for ONLY £25 for the rest of your contract, all 23.75 months of it. (Ok this is only really 22.5 months because it took 5-6 weeks to implement the 2Mb but who's splitting hairs?)
So, I've got all the bells and whistles that e7even offer above and beyond the normal ADSL ISP, with a 2Mb UNLIMITED service until mid March 2007, including connection, for ONLY £245 !!!!!
Yes that's £10.21 a month! YIPPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE !

Bulldog confirmed I would not be able to use Onetel with carrier pre select (cps) anymore if I went for line rental with them. <snip>
Hope this clears things up.

Yes, thanks. I have just looked at their website and see that for *any* of their broadband products you must take their line rental too.
Personally I wouldn't touch a deal like this - sounds too much like selling your soul to Bulldog! Businesses that try and tie you in to all or nothing deals normally don't offer such a good deal as a pick and mix solution - certainly in the long term. If they put up their call charges, you are stuffed - you can either pay more, or swap your ADSL provider (with 7-10 days loss of service) and phone provider (assuming no contract lock in, which I suspect there is). That certainly sounds like your reading of the situation to, though I can see why it might be tempting. (4MB, mmmmm...)..
Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup.0 -
may I also add that Tiscali do not supply or support migration codes. This means that current users a practically 'prisoners' to the Tiscali service. The only way to get away from them at the moment is to cancel the service - they quote that this will happen within a 4 week window, this also means that you can't use another ISP until Tiscali have cleared from your line at which point you willl have to pay full whack to join another ISP.0

I have the option to get NTL broadband at £17.99/month and get free line-rental for 12 months(the lenght of the contract).
Being a low telephone user where the majority of my bill is line-rental this seems like a great deal. Taking into account BT line-rental of £10.50, I am effectively getting broadband for £7.49/month.
No-one seems to mention this anywhere on this site. I know I am committing to a 1 year contract but am I missing something??
cheers Andy0 -

It is mentioned often on the Home Phones side as it really depends on your point of view. NTL seem keen to keep their customers and are often "thowing in" the line rental or television as a package with broadband.
So you could post this same post on the Home Phones saying you are paying £17.99 for broadband but nothing for line rental.
Which ever way you look at it, you are happy with your deal and thats great0 -

I was previously on Demon's 512mb £24.99 service,so I've knocked a tenner off that,and increased the speed.Demon would'nt budge on price or connection speed,so I asked for a MAC number.It's their loss.0
