Anyone who is hypothyroid and taking levothyroxine should take themselves over to a website called "Stop The Tyroid Madness". It will open your eyes to the clueless nonsense spouted by (supposed) highly qualified endocrinologists.
If more hypothyroid patients took in the advice from STTM website then the doctors in our country will have to start taking note. They may even have to do more work for their money.

While it is true for a lot of people, doesnt really mean everyone benefits from taking Armour. For some people thyroxine just works fine but a large proportion of underactive patients may feel better on Armour.
There is a free book available to download by Dr. Anthony Toft for anyone looking for more info on thyroid issues.
Understanding Thyroid disorders - Dr Anthony Toft0 -
I think you might find that this thread has died a natural death in relation to the first posters opening post. Don't really think the OP will be returning given he has been scared off by some hostile posters.
However, I take my hat off to all other posters on this thread who have at least tried to understand the OP's predicaments with regards to his situation, i.e.thyroid disorders etc..
But there is always one bright spark who chooses not to fully understand the OP's plight and insists on stoking the embers to provoke an argument such as your above post.(this post has been deleted)
If you had done your research you will find that thyroid disorders are certainly not 'meaningless mumbo jumbo' as you put it, it is a very serious life threatening condition and is not always suffered by overweight people. The same as obesity is not always caused by to paraphrase your response, 'food intake'
I hold this condition close to my heart as my own father died due to thyroid problems. His weight was up and down.
I suggest you think before you spout out about something you clearly know nothing about.
A little bit of education is a wonderful thing.0 -
One thing that has sent alarm bells ringing for me with this thread, is saying he is being refered to an endo... as I was diagnosed with Hashimotos disease, 4 years ago, and still haven't been refered to a specialist, and considering underactive thyroid is diagnosed with a blood test, why refer before that is done?
Think we do have a troll in our midsts. And for the record, I put on loads of weight, but I eat next to nothing, I just dont lose weight that easily.0
