unless it's on an industrial-size bin lid
When your life is a mess, stop and think what you are doing before bringing more kids into it, it's not fair on them.

I feel for you but do you really have to wait for the surgery before getting started? Obviously gastric banding makes you lose weight because you can only eat a lot less food and you lose weight as a result. I can't see where your thyroid problem comes into it. Why would surgery be needed unless you were eating too much?

I'm a fat bloke. I lost more than 7st in six months (half a stone in the first week) on LighterLife but I was stupid enough to revert to old habits of eating way too much and consequently put the weight back on. Can't blame the diet, it's all my fault. I'm now experiencing some of the health niggles that comes with being fat which had previously cleared up. It aint nice.

I'm going to do it again although LighterLife was too expensive so I'll try a cheaper alternative. You should think about whether you could do something like this while you are waiting for the operation as even losing a couple of stone will make a big difference to your quality of life. You may not lose weight quite so quickly with a thyroid problem but reducing your calorie intake to 500 on one of these diets will help you cope in the short term.

Feel free to PM me - ignore the negative comments, you and I both know that they are nothing compared to what we say to ourselves because of our weight.

Try Exante. It's available online, delivered next day, has no GM ingredients, no aspartame, no artificial colours and no MSG and works out at £25 per week. Much cheaper than LighterLife or Cambridge et al.

Good luck Skywatcher and to the OP - please give this type of diet a try, as loosing a bit of weight before your surgery will help the surgeons out, lower your risk of complications and make your recovery time easier and shorter.
You had me at your proper use of "you're".

How can you afford so much food? It must take a gargantuan amount to sustain such an obesity level! I don't understand what asylum seekers have to do with you eating half of the food output of Africa on a daily basis, so perhaps you could explain?

Been a while since I been on ESA but they get it wrong loads of times I had to appeal but I got better during the reconsideration and came off it.

So quick question if u fail the reconsideration do you still get basic ESA while awaiting tribunal? again never got that far for me

and if u fail the tribunal do u have to pay all money back u claimed for "not being fit or work" when they found u fit
  • My friends sister was 30 stones and now weighs 13 stones, she had a gastric band fitted. Her Mum weighs 18 stone and had a band, and she lost a stone before it was fitted but hasnt lost a pound since and it was fitted 6 months ago!.
Theres no magic wand, what about going for a swim at quiet times and trying to eat better. My Mum s hairdresser is doing slimming world diet and she has lost a few stones. Thats based around healthy eating.Have you tried anything yourself to help?
