Roadside Recovery: AutoAid Feedback

I have been with Auto aid for 3 years. I used them once when I got knocked off a country road when I was doing a normal overtake, The 'Driver' I was overtaking pulled out on me and knocked me off the road and I ended up in a field full of sheep. The ratbag driver did not stop. I called Auto aid who arrived within about half an hour. The breakdown truck got me out of the field, We found the car was still driveable so he followed me for about 5 miles. I then dropped him a tenner and continued my journey home although my car was a 'write off' I claimed from my insurance (Comprehensive with no claim protection) who paid out the value of the car and paid for the fence to be repaired. I never heard from Auto aid which was O.K. I hope the ratbag driver goes to hell. He could have killed me because he did not check his mirrors, I was indicating and I had my lights on.0

Just renewed for a 2nd year. Had to use them once last year for a dead battery. They came within an hour and I received the cheque to cover the call out charge within a week of sending off my claim. Would highly recommend Auto Aid.0

I have been with Autoaid for 3 years used them Twice good service, word of warning you have a limited time to apply for your money back if your late, to bad. Also dont have home recovery: both times car as broken down at home no extra cost cant be bad.0

I have been with Auto Aid for the past three years, but last Friday week I had to use them for the first time. In atrocious weather my engine had taken in water and spluttered to a stop a few hundred yards from my office. I was told that someone would be with me in an hour - they were very busy - and almost to the minute a truck arrived, got me mobile again and charged me £63 which I paid up with my credit card. As soon as I got home that afternoon I filled out the simple and easy to understand claim form and popped it in the post. On the Wednesday a cheque arrived in full settlement. They took just ONE working day to turn it round! I'm more than happy with that service.
One thing - I cannot understand people who worry about the time limit for claims. Just fill out the form the same day while it's fresh in your mind. Don't make problems where none exist. This is a first-class, hassle-free service which SAVES MONEY!! Get over yourselves, some of you, and get saving with Auto Aid.:j0 -

Hi norwoodk and anyone else that can help, I am seriously considering signing up with Autoaid, BUT, how long is the time limit to apply for your refund, and I take it they do provide homestart/recovery??
I doubt there is a time limit and to be honest if there was one its not going to be a rush job like mobile cashback.
Yes they provide home recovery.
You're trying to find a reason not to. There isn't one!!!
I've written off my car and given it the thumbs up... time for you to do the same :rotfl:0 -
I've been with Autoaid for just under a year.
I've had to call them twice.
The first time I called them was 3.30am from the M25 where my windscreen wipers had stopped working on my way home from a music festival, and it was raining. It was just a loose nut, but to make more room for camping gear, I'd taken all my tools out the car(I won't be making that mistake again..)
I gave them my location but was told it would probably be about 2.5-3 hours because of the time of day.
While I was there outside the car on the hard shoulder, in the rain, a lorry got a flat tyre not far behind me, and as the rain eased off, someone from the highway patrol guys (who had stopped to check the lorry was ok) escorted me off the motorway.
I phoned Autoaid and changed my location, and within 15mins, there was a guy from a local garage to my new location....I don't know whether this was because I was now in an easier location, or because the first estimate was a long way out. Either way, it was great.
He fixed the wipers, and when I asked him about payment - he said that <something>star insurance had already paid it. I double checked this, but he wouldn't take money from me.
I never got charged for it from Autoaid, so I've no idea what happened there.
Other time was when my car wouldn't start - called them about 8.40, and was told it would be about an hour. I gave it 20mins and tried my car again - and it worked. So I phoned and cancelled the call.
It's worth remembering, that with the AA they make a big fuss about having their own vans. But if you call from the middle of nowhere at 3.30am, you're most likely still gonna get a local garage rescue service...the same service you'd get sent if you were with Autoaid, Green Flag, the RAC, etc..
I'll be renewing with Autoaid in the next couple of weeks, when my cover expires.0 -
