I must ask, Why is it that a hack and a tog can turn up and in a few hours they have a benefit cheat bang to rights, yet the benefits people can not ?

Unfortunately the fraud investigators have to abide by very restrictive rules that enable fraud to continue. They also don't have the resources, mental or physical of journalists.

There is really little control over the press , as has been proved many times . There are countless examples of reports that at the best are just bending the truth , just omitting certain points can imply all sorts of wrong doings . It takes a lot of money to sue , and more often then not they just have to print an apology , in small print on some back page .
