Obviously talking about other people here.
But the over egging of the cake has left a lot of genuine people who could do with some help rejected, the people who can not do the "acting" bit as they are too honest.
They get nothing whilst those who engage in amateur dramatics get the lot.
This has IMO raised the bar so high that many genuine disabled end up going without whilst the cheats get the benefits.
It is just not Cricket !

OP - just as a thought. The journo might have tried to get a story but could have gone away with nothing her editor thinks is substantial enough for an article so don't worry. Getting back in touch with her now when you are understandably upset could suggest to her that there is something more to this and that she's on to something.

If they do something and they are wrong then you can force an apology and a retraction and editors really hate that.

How would the OP's father take (allegedly) medically-advised exercise during boules whilst sitting?

It's actually the wheel barrow team, the competitors sit in a large cushion like a dog bed and are pushed around the green in wheel barrows by special volunteers, this means that they can play without bending and collect the bowls as well.
They play in the Spear and jackson super barrow trophy league division.
The lady's barrow bowls even have pink barrows !

ok so its medically advised then so the doctor has suggested it i think then the doctor would confirm this if any investigation by the dwp was to come about so the father has done nothing wrong
