A jury at Gloucester Crown Court took over three and half hours to find Webb - who claimed his games were "therapeutic" - guilty of six counts of benefit fraud.
Could only print after the above, Keep digging

DylanO - still the question must be - why do you defend this culture so vigourisly? Why do you write as though you feel you know this vile culture so intimately? Btw, you have a lot of time on your hands with all this robust defending you're doing...I'm off to work now0

I'm well aware of the legalities of court reporting, and I didn't offer any comments about the piece. It demonstrates exactly what I wanted it to, so I don't need to "keep digging".;)0 -

You wonder why I defend a free press? Then you really haven't a hope of understanding.
If you think doorstepping is a "vile culture" then I worry for you. I personally feel that failing to pay one's debts is vile, I'm sure you will disagree.0 -
Without knowing what benefits the OP's father claims (she hasn't answered when I asked this) it's really impossible to know whether there might be a case to be answered or not.0

From personal experience, I've found some people on benefits think the rules apply to everyone but them........When your life is a mess, stop and think what you are doing before bringing more kids into it, it's not fair on them.
GLAD NOT TO BE A MEMBER OF THE "ENTITLED TO " UNDER CLASS0 -
A few points from me, 1st how do you know the OP is a genuine poster and not a troll, funny how she hasnt returned to defend her Dad, 2nd she said he played BOWLS, not BOULS, as I believe they are two different games, one you play on a green with wooden type balls and try to hit a little white ball, a game well loved by the elderly community, the second is a French game played with metal type balls and played on a hard surface, not that common in the UK I believe.
From what I have seen when the old folk play bowls they do have to bend rather a lot to roll the ball, I would imagine this to be quite painfull if you have a bad back or knees, but I guess it would be good excersise if you need to strengthen your back due to injury or stiffness.
Now why would the Sun newspaper suddenly decide to pay them a visit? The only thing I can think of is someone informed them malicioulsy that he was a fraudster, maybe the same person who informed the DWP, he, or the Mother could have invited the reporter in to prove they are not commiting fraud, it could be that they wanted to get their side across to try and stop the malicious gossip once and for all, but giving an interview to the gutter press is the wrong way to go about it.
I know from personal experience, (nothing to do with benefits) that the newspapers DO TELL LIES, they distort the truth, they print things which have never been said, the papers that did it to my family were the Sun, The mirror, the star, the daily mail, heat magazine, although from talking to others once a story has been printed any newspaper or magazine can take the story with out asking permission due to the fact its already been in print.
If the OP is genuine then I hope its gets sorted out and a lesson learned that you should never ever talk to anyone from the press even if you are hoping to get your side of things across because they are only interested in printing the bad stuff.not all on benefits are scroungers and don't need to be bullied!0
