So I read the other thread about Rescuemycar.com, but no one has said whether they actually use them or not.

Has anyone actually had any experience with this company?
  • Last year I joined RAC at £33 less £30 cashback through Topcashback, unfortunately this year I had to switch and could only get AA at £27 but with £19 cashback through Topcashback. So that's £8 for the year instead of £3, never mind. Oh, and I did have to call the RAC out.

mrsdarbs - I'm with RescueMyCar - only had to use them once and someone was out within 30 minutes. I've just had my renewal through for roadside & homestart - £33. Thought this was pretty good.

    Hi,
It's that time of year again when I have to renew my RAC assistance soon.
Been with them for 3 years, never had to call-out and the renewal quote with membership savings is just under 130 quid for Roadside,Recovery & Onward Travel.
Sounds a bit too much esp when I go to the website and see a new RAC application can get almost the same for about 100 quid.

Don't want to try Auto-aid, so is the only option to bite the bullet and renew?
Has anyone else cancelled their RAC membership then applied again some time later to get the cheaper rate? Or do they have a cooling off period when you cannot cancel and renew?

    Cheers

    have you called them?

My hubby called AA and got our quote reduced to £71 from £120 ish. Worth a try. we still didn't renew as I thought it was too much - homestart and roadside only.

we are getting tesco - just waiting for the rental income to come in! lol
  • I've gone for Green Flag at 20.00 with 15 quid cashback on either topcashback or quidco

for the cover I need Greenflag would cost me £81.90 - with the cash back - £56.90, which is cheaper than Tesco, but I know I will get vouchers from tesco's which I can use to 4x their value.

    Thanks for sharing though!
