However the Tesco Rewards brochure has two kinds of deals, one where you trade in your Clubcard vouchers for tokens worth 4 times the amount of the vouchers, and a second type called "buy in full" which is just using the vouchers at face value. The RAC deal is a "buy in full" deal, so you DON'T get four times the face value as the MSE article says!

I think the MSE article is misleading people into thinking it's a better deal than it is.

    2) I can't find any clarification as to whether they will honour the cashback if I am renewing (rather than taking out for the first time) my RAC membership. (I use Quidco).

    Any answers? Thanks in anticipation.

    1) The RAC deals are paid for in full with vouchers. But the price you pay in vouchers is much less than paying in cash.

eg.Personal Membership with at home and recovery is £41 in vouchers, or normal price £145.50

    2) You wouldn't be able to do a RAC renewal and get cashback via any cashback site. But look into letting the membership lapse and just applying for a new membership.

I'm looking for a breakdown company that covers the car not the driver as our new run around is used by the whole family. Me amd my OH have our own cars and are both covered on a full AA contract but we have this new little car which we all share. Whilst me and OH would still be covered via the AA our three boys would not and looking for a policy that covers three named people on one car is tricky.

RAC do "vehicle cover", which makes the vehicle the "member", not a person, and covers any driver in the registered vehicle.

Alternatively RAC do personal membership for a family (all at same address) total of up to 5 people.

    Thank you.

In the end having had no call back at all from the AA we went with green flag, it is hidden away in the terms and conditions but they cover the car not the owner so we just covered the new car. It cost £22.91 and hopefully I will get £15 from Top cash back.

AA have now phoned us back 3 times, each time they deny having phoned us previously or having taken longer than 10 minutes to call (even though we waited several hours). I just told them that they were impossible to gte hold of and I have gone to Green Flag instead.

Hi, has anyone used the green insurance company for breakdown cover? Are they any good? Had a quote for £34.95 for road side, home start and recovery to intended destination, which seems quite a good deal.

Have the cashbacks sites changed recently - I notice the quidco/ topcashback £20 cashback seems to be either RAC level 1/2 basic roadside/ basic roadside with nationwide recovery/ OR basic roadside with at home - breakdown cover - and I thought they used to be basic only?

I'm stuck between specifying the vehicle or going to Personal cover. I want to cover my brothers motorbike. I don't know if it's best to cover the vehicle - who evers riding.

Which do the Tesco clubcard vouchers give?

Currently looking for individual breakdown for DS, we have just insured with Autoaid. As I want personal cover and would prefer the one to get you home rather than garage, I keep coming back to Autoaid for him even though he's single! They seem to provide everything as standard that hikes up the price of the bog standard ones. Anyone found a decent cheap personal one that I have missed??
  • Hi, I need cover for 3 vans ( the heaviest being 3500kg) and wonder if anyone has any recommendations please? Would possibly prefer personal cover for me and the spouse.
    Thanks for any help.
