PPI Reclaiming Discussion Part 5

I've done some number crunching, they've refunded the ppi premium for each month & the interest charged on it until the card was closed (2003) that's what there offering, are they supposed to pay 8% pa from 2003 until today on that amount??
As I said about the card being in a credit balance, no 8% is paid for those months, contact the bank and see what they say about this 8%, if this was a goodwill gesture then I don't think they pay the 8% I could be wrong, ask the bank to clarify.0 -
The issue is not whether you have PPI or not. There is nothing wrong with having it. It is whether it was mis-sold to you or not. When you buy online there is no-one selling it to you. So, it cant be mis-sold apart from a very small number of technical reasons. So, most online PPI complaints get rejected.
OK - that makes sense. Perhaps there is no case then, still worth a try though.
The CC was applied for online I can't remember if the box for PPI was automatically ticked or not.0 -

If my husband suffers from asthma and this was not disclosed because they didn't ask is this a valid reason for a ppi claim. We also thought that because I had a card for his account that it was joint cover. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks0

You need to check the terms of the insurance ...0 -
Is the card still open? I would just send the claim off with copies of all the statements, along with the filled in fos form, do you have any other reasons for complaining apart from being told you had to have it?
Thanks for your response! The card is still open and I have 95% of the statements since 2004 until now. I'm going to part with £11 and request HSBC to provide me with (1) the copy of the credit card agreement with terms & conditions and (2) the history of the entire account (SAR). I've now learned that they are allowed to take some time before they send a response to both requests and I am getting worrried that these thieves will only give information going back 6 yrs.
As for the reasons, apart from what I've already said, I am pretty ticked off that the HSBC woman who sold the insurance to me did not even take a minute of her time to explain what the f*ck this insurance does for those who buy it, she just purged it on me.0 -

Why waste more time (and money) when you have more than enough to skip straight to complaint?
Do be aware that you'll need valid and verifiable complaint reasons. Complaining simply about the behaviour of the advisor who sold you the insurance is "hearsay" which is the weakest complaint because it cannot be proven.0 -
I've got a question about M&S Money credit card. I applied for it in M&S store in 2005 and had it closed in 2010. Sadly, I don't have the credit card agreement I signed but I have statements covering 2005-2010.
The M&S girl who was selling the card at the time handed me the application stating that I will get a 10% discount in store on the day and that I should just put my name and sign the form and she'll do the rest. Clearly by 'the rest' she meant ticking Cardsafe and PPI boxes for me.
Does anyone know the address at M&S Money for requests of the credit card agreement and SAR? Their website isn't very clear about this.
THANK YOU!0 -

Hi there! Thanks for your response. In my original post from 28/10/2012, I said that I applied for the card at a branch and remember specifically being told by the lady who saw me when I applied for the credit card that I had to take the insurance, it's just a thing that all customers have to take, basically presented it as if it was a compulsory part of the package. I also remember asking why should I sign up for it if I was in full time employment and not expecting to lose my job. Her response to this was that you should take it just in case.
I could pick out that woman in a line-up, she still works at that branch.0
