  • Send an E-Mail to their CEO.

Joe Bloggs is definitely not the CEO of Barclays.;)
Private message Amersall or Di3004, they usually keep up to date with the (frequent) changes to these E-Mail addresses and MSE doesn't like them posted on the forum.
  • Hello everyone. I wonder if someone could help.
I originally took out a loan with Barclay's 1998 and topped it up three times. I only have the information for the last loan in 2003. Would this be valid be have the claim back dated? Or would I have to make individual claims on each one even though they were top ups? I would appreciate any information.
    Thank you

  • They won't lie, but their records may have been destroyed if this was from a period longer ago than six years...

I am told that loan numbers must be stored forever for legal reasons??

Not that I'm aware. Banks routinely delete all information no longer required after six years in line with FSA guidelines. I'm not sure how loan numbers (even if they are stored) would help to identify if there was PPI, of course.
  • isnt it for them to prove your accusation otherwise in these cases?

The burden of proof always lies with the accuser, not the accused.
  • I completed the PPI claim form template provided on this website (which is brilliant by the way) and sent it off to the Co-Op as my son in law had PPI on a credit card of theirs. He had no idea he'd agreed to it and is not too savvy with long winded terms and conditions so didn't even know it was being applied. I completed the relevant parts of the form, i.e. Name, Address etc along with Account Number of the card and lo; a few weeks later they offered him around £5,000 - I would urge anyone who thinks they may have this rip-off 'insurance' tagged onto any financial product, to just give it a go. My son in law had no paperwork to support his claim other than the account number and as these institutions need to keep records for several years, it's highly likely this is all they need to investigate and pay out!

No. They have to show there is no wrong doing in their files. They do not have to prove what you accuse them of as being wrong.

If you've got the information of the last loan you stand a chance, you need to word a letter very strongly to point out that the 2003 loan was the last in a consolidation chain & that as its a chain they should deal with all the loans in the chain, I'm sure somebody on here will give you the technical terms you need to quote,
When did the 2003 loan finish?
