It is misselling as it is frontloaded PPI, and we only became aware recently that we could claim for this. Does this sound reasonable?:)
Thank you.
That sounds very good to me, tell them the full cost and unfair rebates were not explained to you at the point of sale, this is a win and FOS will uphold even if they don't.0 -

Keep me posted.0 -

hi,
have taken the plunge to reclaim any ppi i may have been mis-sold. Took the easy route 1st by calling black horse and barclaycard, both said no ppi on total of 4 accounts. i asked if they would send original signed credit agreement to which they said they would, within 12 days.
Has anyone else went down this route 1st, is their any experience of banks telling you no ppi present when there has been?0 -

thanks guys
It will be in the amount that you pay back, put the complaint into Bennets, you only need the account number, I take it you have not started paying this yet? if you have not then if they agree you were mis sold the PPI they will take this off.0 -
Hi, I am new to this site and was looking for some advice if possible.
I have recently made several complaints for PPI.
The first being MBNA who acknowledged that PPI had been applied to my account "at my request" on 12 January 2004. They go on to state that I opted for the payment protection cover on a separate screen to the credit card and they did not offer advice about the policy. I am sure that all boxes were pre-ticked and if I tried to remove the tick I could not continue with the application. They say this is their final decision. Can I take this any further?
Another of my complaints was to Welcome Finance for a scured loan taken out in August 2002 with PPI premium of £1719.90. I called them today for an update and the guy advised that it had not yet been dealt with and I could expect an offer at around week 6 which would be in 2 weeks. I then asked if it had not been looked at yet was he sure I was going to be made an offer. He looked at my complaint and muttered "time barred" to himself and then advised me that he could not give me any indications at all??? Any ideas
Last one is for GE Money. Their letter states "whilst GE Money provided the finance to you for the PPI, GE Money did not sell it to you. This was taken out through dial4aloan limited" They go on to advise me that dial4aloan are no longer trading and I would need to identify and contact the company administrators to make any claim. ?????
Any help would be much appreciated xxx
With Welcome give FOS a call and ask if you can go the insurer route with these, this is time barred due to the year.
With GE,contact the FSCS if the loan was on after 14th Jan 05 and ask if you can claim from them as the broker is in liquidation, if it was before this, call FOS and see if you can go the insurer route.
Send the Credit card one to FOS, if you say the box was pre ticked on line, if you had other means to repay this card should the worst happen, sick pay, life insurance etc then put these if you had no need of this insurance.0 -

I have had several companies ringing me to tell me I have a case but they want to charge around 35% of anything they claim back for me. Any help with be gratefully received. Would I be better writing to all the companies where I've had loans myself or use a claim handler ?
Write or telephone the companies yourself, a claims handler will not do this for you, you have to gather the info and they post the claim form off and take a % of your win plus Vat.0 -
advice and help please ....... my bank as made me an offer on the PPI that I paid years ago the only problem is its alot lower than the PPI that I paid. can I negosiate (sorry spellings not my strong point) and how? or is their offer the best I can get, thanks
Was the loan settled early?if it was then you will not have paid the full PPI to this.
Ask them for a breakdown of how they worked this out.
Do you know what the monthly PPI was and how long the loan ran for?.0 -
Just needing to spill as nerves getting too much!! Had a sum of money credited to my CC over 4 weeks ago. I called the help line and was told my claim was still under investigation as the process takes 8 weeks and I was at the 6 week mark. Well have now reached the magic 8 week deadline, still no letter and the credits are still on my CC. I know cause I keep checking about 10 times a day!!!!
This is just torture as due to hours of work I won't be able to ring again until next week. Knowing my luck after all this it likely won't be upheld.0 -
Hi all,
I have had several loans and credit cards over the past 10-15 years. However I can't remember which ones I had PPI on. Is there any way of finding out?
Many thanks0
