  • Is it correct that I do not have PPI on my credit cards if PPI is not specifically mentioned on my credit card statements. Or, is it hidden somewhere? I'm new - be kind lol. Thanks in anticipation that you sensible people will know the answer.

Yes, that's right, on ccs ppi is shown as a separate amount on each statement.

Hi Is it correct that you only have 6 years to put in a claim for mis-sold PPI?

No, not at all - the 6 years refers to the length of time that the banks are required to hold on to records. There is no defined period set out for claiming miss-sold PPI so put in a claim and best of luck!

Hi Pam 6 years from the time you would reasonably have known there was a problem which for most people was april 20th 2011 when the bba lost the judicial review, you can go back a long way if you have proof of the ppi i've got one credit card i'm waiting on from 1992.
  • Hi - has anyone managed to successfully claim back PPI fromthe Funding Corporation. I took a loan out in 2004 and am sure the PPI was mis-sold. The loan was settled in full in 2007. In between I tried to cancel the PPI but they told me it wouldn't reduce the monthly payment. Amongst other mis-selling practice, I know I wasn't told about the limited cancellation period.

I have sent my first letter asking them to confirm PPI on the account and my intention to issue complaint. Their reply just states that they believe as 6 years have passed since the PPI was sold they believe it is statute barred pursuant to Section 5 of the Limitation Act 1980. I know this is rubbish. However, they also state that they do not believe my loan falls under jurisdiction of the FOS as it pre-dates 2005. I have seen a few other posts referring to this but can see no evidence of anyone following it up with them.

I know the FOS ultimately won't be able to deal with my complaint - any advice on a way forward with TFC would be great.

    Thanks

That sounds very good to me, tell them the full cost and unfair rebates were not explained to you at the point of sale, this is a win and FOS will uphold even if they don't.
    Thank you:A
Will keep you informed and thank you again.:)

Im sorry if this has already been asked, but there is so much to read on this subject. My OH opened a bank account and credit card with Natwest in 2003; after MSE brought PPI to our attention we realised my husband had PPI on his credit card, so we cancelled it and wrote to Natwest in 2008 as per MSE letter template. We were rejected based on the fact that my husband had signed the application form therefore was saying he understood what had been ticked. At no point was PPI discussed in branch and we put this in the letter. Anyway we didnt persue the matter further after that, I cant remember why, but wondered if we should try again? Unfortunately we no longer have the original letter we sent or the banks reply. Not alot to go on I know, so does anyone think we should try again? :o
  • Hi, Im new to this site having only registered today. I have been through the County Courts a number of times over the past 5 years and have a larger number of third parties who have bought my debts. I am in a current payback arrangement with all of them so thats not a problem. my query is this. When I claimed my PPI back (I used Wade & Co) they say it was taken off the debt I owed to the credit card companies. However this was after my debts had already been sold on to the third parties involved. I am now at a stage where I am being taken to County Court again. The company Arrow Global say I am in default. Its not true I have proof of regular payments. They however believe I have more money than what I am declaring and are asking me to up my monthly payment. I am however interested in whether my PPI repayment was ever taken of the total debt owed. The third party is being extremely vague and the original Credit Card Company say they no longer have any records as they sold the debt on
