  • Hi All
Just a quick question, i have three ppi claims in with Northern Rock. All three are loans.
One loan is paid off and two of these i fell into arrears and they quickly placed a charge on my house for these two loans.
I'm wondering if i do get my claims upheld then would i see any of the money. I do understand that they will want their money back and coming off the charge on my house will also be of benifit to me but i also have other priority arrears that i could do with paying off if i did get any money.
Does anyone know if i would be given the option.
    Many Thanks

Thanks Amersall. I managed to get away from work a bit earlier and just off the phone to BoS. Don't you know, it's STILL being processed and no decision reached as yet. Just so frustrating. I have no intention of touching the money, but I cannot understand why the banks would risk putting £11k onto someone's CC and have it sitting for over a month!
All I was told was to ring back again next week.

Hope they don't take too long with this, fingers crossed x.

    Hi
I am new to all this and would just like to ask is overdraft insurance classed as PPI. I had this on my business account for quite a few years, not by choice, and feel that it was an expensive extra. Not quite sure how it worked anyway.

If you were mis sold then make the claim.

Hi there I am looking for some help in relation to PPI on a mortgage with Abbey National. I am pretty sure that the mortgage had PPI applied to it and in hindsight was not applicable as I was self employed. I have asked for a copy of the T&C and I have been issued a copy of the letter confirming my mortgage acceptance which shows the amount of the mortgage plus a statement which reads SPECIAL CONDITIONS: A mortgage guarantee policy in the sum of £6100 with Royal Insurance. The premium of £427 is included in the total loan and will be sent direct to the insurance company by us on completion.

Am I right in thinking this could be the PPI or is this something different? I'm struggling to get any help from Santander on this and it's taken me over 100 days to get a copy of this let alone anything else! Any help would be appreciated!

Hi my ppi complaint has been upheld , what does that mean? what do you get

Was this a loan or CC and how much PPI did you actually pay,was the loan settled early, do you have statements to prove PPI paid on the card previous to the 6 years they will pay you back? as above, this all depends on the actual PPI and how long you paid this for.

No, amersall, the loan was NOT repaid early. When I rang them and sai the offer was not high enough I asked them how they were working it out and they said that as neither us nor them had the original paperwork they had to rely on a formula. Today we have received a higher offer, but we still think that we paid something like £ 70/month x 60 months ppi so that still is not enough. Would be grateful for more advice, thanks, ridingwood.

This hard as the bank are working a calculation on no info, ask why they increased the offer after making a low one and how are they working this out.

I do know that NR give you the option of redress back to you or taken off arrears, this is with unsecured debts though, with a charge being on the property I don't know if this will be the case.
If these are upheld, it will tell you on the acceptance letter what they are going to do.

Hi, Im new to this site having only registered today. I have been through the County Courts a number of times over the past 5 years and have a larger number of third parties who have bought my debts. I am in a current payback arrangement with all of them so thats not a problem. my query is this. When I claimed my PPI back (I used Wade & Co) they say it was taken off the debt I owed to the credit card companies. However this was after my debts had already been sold on to the third parties involved. I am now at a stage where I am being taken to County Court again. The company Arrow Global say I am in default. Its not true I have proof of regular payments. They however believe I have more money than what I am declaring and are asking me to up my monthly payment. I am however interested in whether my PPI repayment was ever taken of the total debt owed. The third party is being extremely vague and the original Credit Card Company say they no longer have any records as they sold the debt on
If the PPI win was for the credit card , they can take what you owe, this is the same with all arrears,to make sure this was taken off the balance, put a Sar request into whoever bought the debts, they should give you the account numbers for the accounts as you need all info.

Enclose £10 and request all data that they hold on you, this should then show your accounts and what has happened with them.

Give them 40 days to respond.
