They are quoting DISP 2.8.2 R.
We took the loan out just over 6 years ago. We are obviously going to persue, as it was misselling of single premium PPI. Any advice of what to put in reply to CT Capital? Thank you0 -
Another of my complaints was to Welcome Finance for a scured loan taken out in August 2002 with PPI premium of £1719.90. I called them today for an update and the guy advised that it had not yet been dealt with and I could expect an offer at around week 6 which would be in 2 weeks. I then asked if it had not been looked at yet was he sure I was going to be made an offer. He looked at my complaint and muttered "time barred" to himself and then advised me that he could not give me any indications at all??? Any ideas
They were not regulated in 02 so that is correct, contact FOS and ask if you can make the claim to the insurer.Last one is for GE Money. Their letter states "whilst GE Money provided the finance to you for the PPI, GE Money did not sell it to you. This was taken out through dial4aloan limited" They go on to advise me that dial4aloan are no longer trading and I would need to identify and contact the company administrators to make any claim. ?????0 -
Hi I complained like hell on Monday with my bank manager about my ppi miss sold got a letter from Natwest today saying they are upholding my complaint and for me to sign a cancelation ppi form and send it back and they will send out a letter offer to me, does this mean i will get all my ppi back?
Looks like itthey will send the calculations later.
If this was a CC they will pay the last 6 years unless you or they have proof of PPI paid before this, if this is a loan make sure they take the whole PPI off the balance and reduce the payment by the monthly PPI amount.0 -
Hi I wrote of to rbs bank about my credit card ppi we were unaware that we have been paying ppi on it until a letter came through the post of our yearly statement we have been paying it for over 20 years I think 2002 until present. I told them to cancel it as we have other insurance to cover reduncey And sickness the letter was sent od 22/06/2012 we got a reply a week later saying they have up to 8 weeks we haven't heard anything since then does any one know how many years we will get back it's still running they haven't stopped it yet0

Hi there- this might be a silly question, but back in 2000 when I took out my first mortgage, my FA advised me that I needed a self assurance policy to cover it in the event anything happens to me. I got this through Scots Provident and 12 years on, despite having moved I am still paying this- as it is from a separate provider, I'm not sure if it is classed as PPI.
I'm afraid I no longer have the business details of the FA who set up the policy and the mortgage for me.
Post the question here

I also had ppi on my capital one credit card I rang up and she told me that I don't have it on now but it was on it since 2003 she couldn't tell me when it stopped but give me an address to write too which I did asking them for my money back the wrote to me a week later saying that they have 10/12 weeks to decide has anyone else been through this. Many Thanx bigela
This is the time that they need to deal with this, you may hear sooner or later, depending on the back log that they have.0 -
Hi all,
I was wondering if you would be able to advise me:-
I have a couple of claims going through with a couple of offers pending although one seems very low.
Loan 17000
APR 10%
Taken August 2006 over 60 months
It says on credit agreement :-
Loan amount £21651.00 incl £4651 insurance
Total amount repayable ; £27604.80 (£5930.40 insurance)
£361.24 per month loan
£98.84 per month insurance
Total charge £3958.80 (interest includes £1279.40 for insurance loan)
My confusion is:- I was refunded £1169.24 insurance interest & 4056.28 insurance rebate in sept 2006 leaving a total of £22379.28 outstanding, if you add the original loan amount I requested (£17000) and the interest they've worked excluding the loan insurance I've worked that out to be £19674.40
I've paid back (So far) £20277.08 (with creditors as lost my job) with another £2845.88 remaining balance
RBS have offered me £1041.91 refund???
I can't get the numbers to add up at all originally I was paying back £371.51 back per month x 60 months = £22,290.60 which again is a different amount!!!!!
Please please help, any advice would be gratefully received
Regards
Becifee
You only get the PPI back, not the whole loan amount, the PPI that was actually on this loan was just over 10,000, they gave you a refund of over 5,000 in 06 for this PPI plus the PPI they have given you now, what they should now do as you have won mis sell is take
off the whole PPI amount from the balance of the loan, less the rebate amount they gave you, make sure that they do this.0 -
AlmostThere79 wrote: »Hi, apologies if someone has already asked this question. I'm worried and just need someone to clarify something for me.
I have an IVA which is due to finish in May 2013. My IVA company emailed, text, phoned and sent letters badgering me to do this PPI Claim. A friend had also made a PPI Claim (he didn't have an IVA so kept all of it) and got a good result so I thought I might as well. I didn't expect anything. I filled in the paperwork which stated that they would take 40% of any money received.
Halifax have written to me saying they will refund £2800 and will make this payment to the IVA people. When I emailed my caseworker to discuss this and find out what I get his reply said
"most of the money from PPI is to be paid into the arrangement. Therefore unfortunately I can confirm that you will only receive the interest element from any successful claim"
Needless to say I am furious, upset and devastated. I have been barely making it by each month and the thought of receiving a little much needed cash was brilliant. Now its all been taken away
Is there anything I can do? Are they right in doing this?
I am sure that if you are on an IVA they should not take 40% of the claim,or even do it for that matter as you have paid 40% to them that could have reduced the debt, phone these and complain
http://www.justice.gov.uk/contacts/cmr
and put a complaint into the IVA provider as you are unhappy that the 40% will not reduce the debt and this was not explained to you, or that you could do this for free yourself.0 -
yellowlally wrote: »Hi, just want to know if anyone thinks I have a valid claim here. I took out a Natwest (RBS) credit card years ago, and noticed that I was paying PPI on a couple of years ago which I promptly cancelled. I have just realised that it is possible to reclaim if it was mis-sold initially so I put in a claim on the basis that I do not recall ever being actually 'sold' this insurance, I certainly did not ask for it. Today they have answered my claim, rejecting it, sending me a blank copy of an application form which they say I would have signed at the time, and on which I would have had to sign for PPI. My claim was based on the fact that I didnt want it (cancelled it 2 years ago), didnt need it (full time employed, generous sick pay etc) and didnt ask for it (genuinely do not remember completing a form). Sounds to me like they have lost the original documentation and are just assuming that this blank form they sent me is the one I completed. I really cannot remember how I applied for this card, it was too long ago, but I have a feeling it was done in the bank. Does anyone think I have a valid claim, and if so, is the next step the Ombudsman? Any help much appreciated.
Take it to FOS, you have only just realised you were mis sold this as you had no need of it.0 -

and a few more.
Does anyone know if ic ould place the ones i have been unsuccessful with in the hands of a PPI claims company and if they would be willing to take them on when i have been personally unsuccessful.

You can reject these yourself, you do not need to pass these to a claims co, you will pay them a hefty fee plus Vat for the work you have already done for free, they will not get you a better result than you could get on your own.0
