Seemed to work fine for me!:p
  • Hi, I'm new to this so apologies if I'm posting in the wrong place or doing something wrong.

I'm on a debt management plan and now going through all the people I owe to ask for the original credit agreements. A couple of them have come back so far to say they can't locate the original credit agreement. This means I don't know whether or not I had PPI with them.

Where do I stand on this? One letter said that because of this they couldn't enforce it but would still pursue me for outstanding amount. I only want to find out if I had PPI.
  • When I took out my mortgage in 1998, I was strongly advised that I needed insurance to cover the possibility of losing my job or falling ill. I thought this was strange as my employer provides a one year sick pay scheme and I have alternative sources of income.

I did not simply take the insurance package being offered by the lender. Instead I approached a specialist insurance broker to get a selection of products and opted for one of their products.

I have approached the insurance company who claim that they are not liable to repay my monthly premiums as the product was not directly linked to a loan and is therefore not PPI.

    Any advice appreciated.

    Hi all,

Hope someone in the know can help -

I received a letter yesterday from Egg to say that they have been reviewing past sales of PPI and they have uncovered some problems with certain sales which may mean they have mis sold me my PPI.

Basically they have sent some forms to complete and suggested 3 options of why the PPI might have been mis sold.

I was just wondering if anyone had any success with Egg or indeed has received a letter similar to the one I have mentioned.

    Helen.
  • So i've called Egg (now Barclaycard) and they claim to have no record of me at all. I don't have original paperwork or old statements. How do i go about proving i had a credit card with them??

A company called Moorgate took on my Egg Loan but it was still Egg that have contacted me regarding mis sold PPI. They 'should' still have a record of you.

Are you confused here, Amersall (Or am I?)? It's the OP's IVA company which is servicing all of the debts on the OP's behalf. They aren't taking 40% commission!

Looked to me like they are doing the PPI claim for a fee, I could be wrong though :D
some DMP and IVA companies are trying to do the claims, they pass this over to another company and they get commission, what a cheek.
Will have another look at the post again :D might need new specs:D

My IVA company emailed, text, phoned and sent letters badgering me to do this PPI Claim. I filled in the paperwork which stated that they would take 40% of any money received.
Looks right, they badgered the op, they should not do this, 40% is a lot to come off the debt, not to be given to a third party
I would complain to the claims reg, they should not be doing this.

Amersall very kindly gave some good advice regarding a ppi claim to Natwest, all was fairly straightforward, husband paid PPI (so he thought) on a loan back in the mid 90's so we wrote a letter stating why we thought it had been mis-sold. They acknowledged they were looking into it about a fortnight later. Meanwhile whilst sorting paperwork I found a copy of a 1997 bank statement stating he'd paid the PPI as a single lump sum and the amount so I sent another letter stating that the single premium was unfair etc. etc. as Amersall's wording' which crossed with an offer of approx £400 from loans from 2000 onwards. To date the other letter we sent and copy bank statement has not been acknowledged despite two very frustrating phone calls to different numbers (freefone RBS Helpline and Manchester somewhere).

So, if you're still with me, i've typed another letter today to both the RBS London address and the RBS Manchester address which will be sent recorded delivery asking if they're looking into the 1997 premium or indeed if they've even received it.

I'm not signing for the £400 or so until i've had a response to the other matter.

I'm wondering if they're hoping i'll go away.
:D keep at em, fingers crossed x.
