Just waiting for the next installment now - probably in which Darth David announces that he's actually my father and the guy I fancy is my twin brother... and the saga continues...
What did your IVA supervisor say when you told them, are they taking it all or leaving you someHi, im Debtinfo, i am an ex insolvency examiner and over the years have personally dealt with thousands of bankruptcy cases.

Hi there,
Does anyone know if there is a formula for working out how much you are owed on a PPI?
I have done the template form from this forum and sent it in to Lloyds, they agree that we are entitled to a refund of the PPI. We do not know if we still have the original paperwork but the payment came out of the bank with the loan payment at £477.92 per month on a £20,000 loan. They offered £ 2152.92 which didn't seem enough, after a phone call today they say it wasn't right and are now offering
£ 3202.20
My question is can I stick out for more is will that be it. Thanks in advance for your help.0 -
Recieved a letter yesterday stating that they believe the matter to be outside the jurisdiction of the FOS....and can dismiss the complaint 'without considering the merits' as it is outside the time limits for referral to the FOS and they have stated 'we believe the complaint falls outside the jurisdiction of the FOS and therefore we have dismissed the complaint without considering the merits.
They are quoting DISP 2.8.2 R.
We took the loan out just over 6 years ago. We are obviously going to persue, as it was misselling of single premium PPI. Any advice of what to put in reply to CT Capital? Thank you0 -
I sent in a questionnaire to Capital One mid may and had a letter a while ago saying 8 - 10 weeks from the date of this letter, which is just about up now. Has anyone else had a response from them? I don't seem to see much about them upholding on the forum lately?
Thanks in advance for any responses.0 -

Hi, I’m new to the forum and have a couple of questions Iwas hoping you could help with.
When my husband took out his mortgage in 2007 he was told that as he was doing so alone he would need to take out 2 different insurances to cover himself. The first was a unemployment protection cover through AXA which paid if he had to stop work for any reason. The second was mortgage protection through Friends Provident which was a income protection and critical illness cover.
He was told by Countrywide (the service he used to find a mortgage provider)that he HAD to take these as a condition of him getting the mortgage with Santander and now realises that he probably didn’t need both as they are very similar types of insurance. He stopped paying both when we renewed our mortgage last year.
My questions are, can he claim these back as PPI even though they are through separate insurers? And who would he contact to get the claim moving?
Thanks.0 -
Hi, I am new to this site and was looking for some advice if possible.
I have recently made several complaints for PPI.
The first being MBNA who acknowledged that PPI had been applied to my account "at my request" on 12 January 2004. They go on to state that I opted for the payment protection cover on a separate screen to the credit card and they did not offer advice about the policy. I am sure that all boxes were pre-ticked and if I tried to remove the tick I could not continue with the application. They say this is their final decision. Can I take this any further?
Another of my complaints was to Welcome Finance for a scured loan taken out in August 2002 with PPI premium of £1719.90. I called them today for an update and the guy advised that it had not yet been dealt with and I could expect an offer at around week 6 which would be in 2 weeks. I then asked if it had not been looked at yet was he sure I was going to be made an offer. He looked at my complaint and muttered "time barred" to himself and then advised me that he could not give me any indications at all??? Any ideas
Last one is for GE Money. Their letter states "whilst GE Money provided the finance to you for the PPI, GE Money did not sell it to you. This was taken out through dial4aloan limited" They go on to advise me that dial4aloan are no longer trading and I would need to identify and contact the company administrators to make any claim. ?????
Any help would be much appreciated xxx0 -
Hi there,
Got a letter dated 15th May 2012 from HSBC saying they were looking into my PPI claim and would respond within 8 weeks.
It's now August 11th and no response. On there original letter dated 15th May 2012 there is a telephone number on it.
The number is 023 8072 3838.
Lines are open between 9am and 5pm.
I mustve rang 50 times and everytime there is a recorded message saying "Welcome to PPI claims, you are in a cue" then mentions , the timescales for PPI responses. The call goes on for 2 mins 13 secs (according to my mobile phone) then the line goes dead.
What a waste of time.
Does anyone know of another phone number?
I have tried the main HSBC line but they are unable to help.
By the way i have been awarded (yet to receive) a sum from M&S Money from a loan that originally goes back to 1996 so dont let the date of loan put you off.
Cheers0 -
