I recently rang Lloyds TSB regarding if i have ppi on an old Loan and Credit card and they said yes "this i was unaware of purchasing" so i made my complaint, a week later i recieved an acknoledgment letter, 2 weeks after this a supprised phone call asking why i am complaining in which i explained, 6 weeks later i have now recieved another letter saying they are sorry they have found insufficient evidence of it being miss sold and are unable to uphold my complaint.
Please can someone advise what i should do next
Thanks X0 -
Just wondering if anyone can help me. I’ve complained to Natwest (RBS) about being missold PPI. They have rejected my complaint and told me to go to the Financial Ombudsman. After I made the complaint I realised I was paying the PPI by way of a single payment premium. Does this automatically mean that I have a complaint? Some people have said because I was paying this way that the Ombudsman is likely to uphold my complaint. Is this true? I had my bank loan over 5 years and paid the loan off in full after 2 years….
Your help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
You are correct, if it was a final response from the bank, then take this to FOS, if it was not a final response, then get back to the bank.0 -
Evening all,
After nearly 8 weeks of waiting, abbey national finally sent through my loan details (4 in total), which dated back to 2004.
The first loan was for £5000 with an APR of 6.5% - this clearly shows a PPI payment of £18.00 per month. I repaid this loan 3 months later and took another loan out for £6350 - at the same APR but doesn't show PPI (so not sure if it carried on or stopped), as the monthly payments went up by £25.00
In 2007 I took a loan out for £3900 with an APR of 7.9% - over 5 years for £80.00 per month - I dont think this loan has PPI.
Now, this loan seems like it does as my calculations don't seem to add up.
Loan for £8400 with APR 17%...ahhh! Total interest is £5535 - which seems extreme! Took out over 7 years - bit again it's not clear with PPI.
On all the loans the T&C's seem to imply that they have PPi - so have listed all the loans to abbey in my complaint.
I may be barking up the wrong tree, but thought maybe one of you guys might be able to help!
Thanks

Is there anyone out there who has had a successful claim against Next Directory. Unknown to myself I was paying PPI since 1991 on my account which was automatically added without my knowledge. Never really took a lot of notice on my statements on interest etc so didnt realise until what i thought was added interest just disappeared i december. Contacted next who told me it was the responsibility of their insurance company, put a claim to them who have said i is the responsibility of Next. Not sure where i go with this as it is alot of money i have paid and am furious. Any help would be appreciated0

Wondered if you might be able to advise if I have a case...
Wanted a loan to reconcile all my debts approx 10 years ago with HSBC. Needed about £25,000 but was told that I wouldn't get the loan unless I took loan protection to the tune of £8,000. Told them I didn't want it or need it but I was told they wouldn't authorise the loan if I didn't take it. Consequently (because I was desperate and naive I guess) ended up taking a loan for £33,000 with a one off payment of £8,000 coming straight out of my account for the protection. My temp job had just turned permanent a few days before I applied for the loan....
Sound like I have a case to you?
Cheers.0 -

sounds as if you have a very strong case to me vlad, i would imagine you also had a fairly hefty lump of interest added onto the ppi if the ppi was incorperated into the loan as well0 -
Hi, Sorry but I am totally useless at all things financial but am looking for some advice. I've posted this elsewhere on this site too...not sure where is best to put it!
Thanks to this wonderful site I have sent off a PPI claim to HSBC. Unfortunately I only had one reference number and that was for my actual loan....and not for the PPI itself. I had several loans each of which I consolidated and then took out another with HSBC. I think I had 4 in total, the final loan being for around £17000 which i took out in 2005. I believe this had a single premium PPI policy added to it, I am currently in a DMP still trying to pay this back. By the time it is cleared I will have paid over 30,000 towards this.
Anyway, I have received a letter back from HSBC and they have listed 6 different numbers at the top, headed HSBC Personal Loan Protection Plans and then all the numbers. I am just wondering if that means that they have found 6 lots of PPI that I have taken out. Has anyone else had a letter like this, and if so did you have more than one reference number?
I have no idea how much the offer could be for, I am hoping it will help to clear off my debts. Does anyone have a way of calculating a rough figure for a ppi offer? (one that is very simple as I'm not great with figures!)
Also does anyone know how long it may take from me getting this letter to finally getting an offer?
Thanks in advance...sorry if I have asked simple questions. I really dont have a clue0 -

So here we are guys restarting on this thread this post will just give you a post or two to latch on to.
Hi I cant deny this is all a bit daunting but here goes,
I know that on a couple of credit cards, a business loan and even a mortgage I have paid PPI. However, I went bankrupt about 6 years ago and have been discharged totally.
Will any claim I make be recovered by the companies I claim against. I know that the credit cards were closed as a result of the bankruptcy.
