PPI Reclaiming Discussion Part 5

Just wondering if anyone can help me. I’ve complained to Natwest (RBS) about being missold PPI. They have rejected my complaint and told me to go to the Financial Ombudsman. After I made the complaint I realised I was paying the PPI by way of a single payment premium. Does this automatically mean that I have a complaint? Some people have said because I was paying this way that the Ombudsman is likely to uphold my complaint. Is this true? I had my bank loan over 5 years and paid the loan off in full after 2 years….
Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Do you even know for certain that you paid PPI?
the loan was paid off so i destroyed the paperwork have spoken to blackhorse gave them adress /reg no./ dob/ place of purchase of vehicle/ all they tell me is they have no details and i need to provide them with a agreement no. (which i no longer have) the ppi was about 5k
i have tried my bank as d/debit went from my account but they said as its been over 6 years they no longer have the details

I would just like to thank everyone who posted on this [and other PPI reclaim threads].
I spent a few days going through these, reading everything that other people have already done, and how they did it.
Result = one PPI claim refund, enough to nearly pay my current debts, waiting for responses from 5 more.
Thank you everyone for your experience and for sharing itNon me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -
Hi All,
I had a mortgage with the halifax way back in 2002, I settled this mortgage in 2007 and I don't know if i had PPi.
I no longer have the mortgage agreement or any paperwork.
I paid to see my credit report hoping to get my roll number but only got the last three numbers.
I sent the Halifax a letter asking for details of this mortgage and gave them a copy of the credit report with the account details on i.e. address, date of birth, mortgage start and settle dates, last three digits of the roll number.
They have replied to me saying they cant find my account.
What should I do???
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers

ive just had a letter back from black horse , after sending a sar and £10 cheque (i no longer have agreement number but sent old address car registration date of birth) saying "as the agreement has been closed for longer than 3 years we are unable to locate your records from the details provided it is possible that the agreement may have been removed from our system due to the time elapsed. In which case we would need a valid agreement number and then once we have a valid agreement number we would be able to send the information you have requested"
1. I thought a sar meant that they had to send me everything they hold about me?
2. If its been destroyed can i request how and when?
They have just fobbed me off from the start.
any help much appreciated
Hi,
With a DSAR request they are supposed to send all info held on a person thats correct but without a valid agreement number would be unable to locate any information as everything is stored under a unique agreement number for each customer...the best bet to locate agreement numbers are through the bank if they still hold your direct debit reference number, sometimes still shows on a persons credit profile or if it was vehicle finance occasionally the dealer will still hold information on the agreement.0 -
Hi there
Wondered if anybody can help me.
I recently sent a letter to rbs about a ppi claim on a loan which now has a few months left to run.
According to my original documents have been charged just over £2900 in ppi (which included about £500 in interest).
The bank have written a letter saying they cannot be sure of the exact details of the phone conversation when I was sold the ppi, but have offered £2100 as a goodwill gesture.
I wondered if I should accept that claim or argue the case?
Can they rescind the offer?
Is it likely that they will start dragging their heels (they have been very quick so far).
Any advise you can give me would be really appreciated!0 -

Received my goodwill letter today, 8wks up Mon.
My existing loan has 12mths left from 84 mths and relates back to all my previous ones so I just sent ppi claim for this one and asked for all others to be taken into consideration with supporting paperwork.
Had life insurance and stay at home mum sometimes with part time job, so no need for ppi.

This loan you paid from Feb to Oct 04, you paid 9 payments of PPI at £24.24 = £218.16, this one is correct, the interest on the PPI is included in the monthly PPI payment, the remaining PPI you did not pay.0 -

have started a claim for ppi that has been running and is still active since 1998, can I claim for the whole 14 years or just 6?
Thanks
I assume this a credit card? if not it is a long repayment for a loan
If you have proof of PPI paid previous to the 6 years that they give, then they will pay you all that PPI, if you have no proof then you only get 6 years back, they may need proof of this also, unless they can see that you paid it.0
