Hi, my understanding is that for banks you can contact them and ask them to provide you with details of all accounts you have held. There may be a small fee - £1.
When making the claim you are likely to be asked to provide proof of paying the PPI, so you will need bank statements showing this.

    Hope this helps.

Loan taken Aug 2006 (due to cold call from bank to reduce int rate if taken)
    (A) Amt & purpose of loan £16000.00
comprising loans (a+b) (a) upto £15171.67 for refin acc no *****
    (b) cash loan of £828.33 (plus any balance of loan (a) not used for refinancing) for REFINANCE DEBT THIS BANK
    (B) Term 84 mths
    (C) total amt payable £20311.20
    (D) repayments £241.80 for loans described 1(a) in proportion amts drawn down.
    APR 7.3%
    OTHER FINANCIAL INFO
    (A) total charge £4311.20
    (B) Ann rate interest. Int of 7.04% over the term.

    Goodwill offer comprises:
Total refund ppi prem & assoc int paid to date £616.01
Stat & Stay int values £147.75
    Less Tax (20%) £29.55
    Net int £118.20
    Total offer £734.21
This is the most confusing one as I have been paying for 72 months with 12 to go so if this is correct I have only paid roughly £10 per month for ppi + int. I still have £3350 to pay on this and waiting for restructure from bank.
So are they all correct if so great news money back into my acc if not is it FOS route. Again thanks for any advice in advance.
  • Hi just hoping somebody like amersall or the others might look at my post on ppi offers. Don't know if ppi was hidden in later loans and not sure if to refer to FOS. I keep being told the sums don't seem right as they were all consolidated from one to another and if over £1000 was paid on first loan for ppi and not refunded why is the amount offered far less. The paperwork shows the figures.

Can I claim missell of PPi on the basis that the lender did not inform me that PPI was available thru alternative (possibly cheaper) sources or that it failed to discuss alternative products such as life insurance?
    No you can't. Sorry.

Just wondering if anyone can help me. I’ve complained to Natwest (RBS) about being missold PPI. They have rejected my complaint and told me to go to the Financial Ombudsman. After I made the complaint I realised I was paying the PPI by way of a single payment premium. Does this automatically mean that I have a complaint? Some people have said because I was paying this way that the Ombudsman is likely to uphold my complaint. Is this true? I had my bank loan over 5 years and paid the loan off in full after 2 years….
Your help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
  • Hi

can anyone please advise, when I first took out my mortgage I was told I had to pay for a life assurance policy to be assigned to the bank as I was paying an interest only mortgage which was also linked to a pension plan. can I claim for mis selling of this policy?

    She has since gone bust
Bankrupts are completely excluded from complaining about PPI. Any decision to complain must be made by the Official Receiver who then retains any redress awarded.

  • Hi Peeps,

Just to update you and a happy update it is, while on Holiday and into 3 weeks of the 10 week reply time that the FOS had set MBNA to respond to them upholding my claim and waiting for me on my doormat when i returned was a letter stating i would receive a cheque in regard to my claim and i should receive it shortly. There was also another letter with a cheque in dated 2 days later for £15123.36 !! So happy and i did it all myself and only started in November last year well worth it. Good luck to you all out there keep trying.
