I apologise in advace as I know you have answered this question before for others but I cannot remember the answer :o

I sent my SAR and £10 to Egg Banking - they have cashed my cheque and answered with 'we no longer have contractual relationship relating to this account ....' and under no obligation to provide the info!

They have however provided me with an account number and I am almost sure I had PPI on the loan. Is it worth sending in the questionaire to claim based on the fact that I didnt need it or ask for it or will that be rejected?

Hi, I hope this is in the correct place.

My daughter was on the verge of going to Court re Bank charges/PPI etc when the 'plug was pulled' a while ago !!

Is it possible to start again with the same info as before. I think we were both exhausted by collating all the info etc we were probably relieved not having to go to court etc at that time.

By accident I came across some of the letters on my computer yesterday, which made me feel perhaps we should try again. These were all composed from Martin's templates.

We have both moved houses now, so I hope she has kept all the info I packed up for her.

You advice will be gratefully received. Thank you in advance.

I think you should be fine, you have lost nothing if you try and fail, the ppi, if it was mis sold should be easy enough, don't know about the bank charges though, could be worth a try.

That is odd with the Sar, are you sure it was the right template? as it seems you have asked for a copy of the agreement, they are not obliged to supply this if the account is closed. You have the account number so look here for reasons for mis sell and if any/all apply to you then put a claim in.

Hi, I too had this response from Egg but last weekend I had a big brown envelope with all my statements and info from Egg, this came about 10 days after that letter.

    Hi there

Yes do give it a shot with your reasons and as for the £10, I would ask them to refund it back to you as well, as they have not complied fully to the request.

    Good luck.

hi Amersall - thanks for speedy reply. I used the template off this sight and it actually asks for loads of information not just the credit agreement which is why I was confused. I thought they had to give me statements and all sorts. They have however supplied my account number which is good.

    .

Hi mt7x2 - was your account also closed and did they say 'the right to be provided with this information from Egg Banking plc ended with the closure of the account' ?

Thanks Di - I will do.
  • Hello,

I am about to submit a claim for recovery of PPi. I have a vague recollection at the time of completing credit card application forms of being given the option of PPi by some lenders and being given no option but to accept PPi with others. The problem is which category does which lender fall in to!?

Secondly, I have a physical disability that existed long before ever applying for a credit card. Does this make a successful claim more likely as I was never asked about my health condition at time of application?

    Thank you

    Hi and welcome

At first, let me say, that if you had a pre med condition (you did) at the time the policy was sold to you, if you were to make a claim on sickness for that reason, then it's unlikely they would pay out, so in this case the policy is worthless to you, it should have been made clear to you when it was sold to you, it appears they failed to tell you this. (so you did not get the opportunity to confirm this to them.

And if they said you had to accept PPI, they then pressurised you into taking it out, where it should have been made optional.

So whoever sold you/set up the account, are the ones you pursue.

Complete the reclaim questionnaire below to make the complaint, send to the ones as stated above who were responsible, keep a copy in case you need to refer to it again at some point, or in case you need to make a complaint to the financial ombudsman service (FOS) if your not happy with the final outcome.

    Hope this helps, good luck.
