  • Hi I wrote to my bank and they confirmed i have paid PPI on a loan with them. They have made a goodwill offer of £631 I'm not sure if I should accept there first offer, I don't recall the loan and how much it was for I just wrote on the off chance as I was sick of all the cold calling I was recieving asking me to claim.Anybody have any thoughts.:j
  • Hi all...

I took out a personal loan with the AA in 2008, I've now paid it off but keep getting calls from PPI reclaim co's about getting 1000s back via a claim.

When I took the loan out, PPI was applied to the agreement even though I had not requested it. I noticed this within the first week of receiving the money and contacted them asking for the PPI cover to be removed.

So.. does this mean I can still make a claim for mis-sold PPI even though I never made any payments for PPI?

    Thanks everyone!

I am undecided what to do ,mid 80,s we took our first mortgage out , we are positive that we forced to buy their insurance that was sold as part of the mortgage deal , no choice.

I have searched high and low for more details on the account , but all i can find is the mortgage account no, and the mortgage payment installments statements from the building society, but nothing regarding the insurance payments as such.

Can i claim still ?? if so how ?

Can I contact the BS and ask for more information to claim ?
are they obliged to give me such information?

    any advice greatly appreciated

I've finally, through a SAR request, been sent previous statements from one bank that I held a credit card account with.

Where on the statement would I be able to see if there was PPI associated with this account?

On the statement, all it has is account number, balance, limit, and transaction details for purchases. No mention there of PPI, does that mean that I didn't have PPI with this particular account?

    Any advice much appreciated!
How many statements did you get? PPI will be shown on every statement that you have or they gave you in the Sar, is there any other payment on the statement that could be n insurance payment?.

I have contacted RBS requesting a copy of the original PPI agreement only to be told that it has been misfiled and they are unable to locate it. Does any one have any advice on how to proceed to establish whether I have been missold please?

Do you have the account number and did you have PPI? if you do then send the claim in.

hi can some one help me i had 2 citi cards visa and mastercard i put in 2 claims they paid out on one card but refused the other one saying that i picked the ppi and i was sent the t&c and that i had 30 days to cancel it if i didn't want it what do i now i find it strange to pay out for one and not the other

Write back and reject the reasons they gave for not upholding, ask why they upheld one and not the other if the reasons for mis sell were the same.

I have been making a claim for PPI from TESCO Finance, with regard to a credit card I had with them for around 5 years in early 2000. I have had various correspondence, they firstly said I had no card with them, despite sending a copy of their own credit card statement with PPI clearly added.

I then waited for a further 8 weeks and then contacted them again having heard nothing. They said they had been in touch and sent a letter to say that I still had no Credit Card with them. I then sent all the details again and they said it would be progressed ASAP.

I have now had a letter to say that they have no record of my Credit Card and can only offer PPI back on the statement I sent £2.73p, this has added insult to injury.

Can anyone offer any advise, I am loathed to accept any such offer but is it worth pursuing any further and if so what is the next step?

    Help if anyone can please??

If you have no more proof of PPI paid other than the statement you sent and they don't due to the year, there is nothing more you can do I am afraid.

I paid of a loan about 6 and half year ago, also had credit card, but don,t have any paperwork. Sent a SAR letter to bank, for my information. They have now asked me to pop in too see them, regarding letter. Do I say it for ppi, they might say they don,t have anything, What do I say to them, they might try to fob me of.
Pop in and see what they want, just keep firm, answer any questions they ask and don't let them fob you off, let us know what happens, if they try to get you to do anything you are not comfortable with then tell them you will go home and think about this and you will get back to them, after you have posted on here:D.

If this was a Loan from a long time ago and you do not have paperwork for this, then accept the money, if you have proof that you paid more than this in PPI or this loan was not from too long go, do a Sar request to the bank for all info they hold on you.

When you cancelled the PPI did they take any payments at all and did your monthly payment reduce for the loan? if not then contact AA and put a claim in.
