Hi all ! I regularly research this forum and have taken some great advice and used it to benifits cause in claiming my ppi but having tried to sort out my mothers ppi I need some advice having rang up enquiring about ppi which she is sure she had they sent this response letter : unfortunately due to limited information available to us I can find no evidence that when you applied for your loan that ppi insurence was not included.

Decision: in light of the nature of your complaint and the fact that I can find no evidence of ppi I have concluded my investigation and will assume that you are satisfied with my findings.

However I would be happy to review your case again if you can provide any evidence supporting your claim such as a copy of your loan agreement or any supporting documentation

Any advice on this one please! Also I don't have a copy of the loan agreement !!

Does your mum have any statements or anything showing the payments?

Ok I am a newbie here but followed MSE for years , I have had a "Select " loan with barclays for years , I have filled out a claim form and they have replied saying they were unable to find any evidence that the load was mis-sold , the loan goes back for about 15 years. I may be cynical but Barclays always seem to turn me down for anything I try and claim back off them (bank charges for one). So my question is this do I hand it over to a claims company or go to the ombudsman myself ?

Send a Sar request to Barclays, ask for all info they hold on you, enclose £10 and give them 40 days to respond.

Well, as I mentioned in my last post, HFC have refunded my PPI paid but the amount of interest was wrong. I took the advice of one poster and accepted their offer with a view to going after the remainder of the interest. How do I go about it? Should I go to the FOS and ask them to chase the rest?
Have HFC done this to anyone else??

    Thanks

They do but this card closed before they took over so still Egg's issue.
Then it is Egg that have to pay, contact FOS and ask what you should do, Egg will tell you that Barclays took over, but won't tell you they did not take closed accounts.

Thanks cappo for the reply ! Erm she will be able to acces her last ten years worth of statements but what if it was hidden within the monthly payments ? What could I do ? Thanks inadvance
  • Good evening, If anyone can help I would be grateful.

I have a current credit card and two prior loans with HSBC, I took out the credit card in 1998 and the first loan in 1999 and they both included PPI. During th mid nineties I had suffered with mental health issues. When I applied for the above I was not asked about any medical conditions or told about the medical exclusions.

Also in 2002 I consolidated my 1999 loan into a new one, this also included PPI. At this time I had been become self employed and had taken out an essential ability policy with HSBC.

Do I have grounds to make a complaint??:o
