I have been paying off a loan since 2003, then in 2006 had to take a big loan out because of being in debt and I had ppi added to this loan. I have just found out that Natwest banned selling ppi with loans in 2009 anymore. Does this mean my PPI Policy is not active anymore?
Make sure you claim for both loan PPI.0 -
Thanks do you think I have a good case? As my employer pays me sick pay0

No, the decision by Natwest to discontinue the sales of PPI does not affect policies already purchased.0 -
A quick question, I have been successful in all but one PPI claim. The unsucessful claim was against FirstDirect. I decided to take them to the FOS and sent the paperwork to FOS in mid June, to date I have had no acknowledgement or anything from FOS. I know they are snowed under at the mo but is there a time period when I should expect an acknowledgement from them or is the first I will hear when they actually look at the case?0

Then again, as you appear to have already sent off a claim presumably on the basis you allege the policy was originally mis-sold, don't bank on being able to claim on the policy now.

They are really busy at the moment, contact the fos calling them and speaking to a caseworker you might get an update0 -
Hi I need some PPI help and Guidance please.
I have just recently decided to go through my HSBC online account statements and realised I have payment protection plan back in 2006 with HSBC. I never have any sort of protection plan for my loans as I felt I was capable of sorting this out without further payments.
I have just spoken to a PPI company who will be able to assist me in getting my money back (no win no fee) and they charge 36% if I win.
Do they do the work any different compared to the ppi instructions on here? Are they more successful than just me doing it myself? Just worried I will do it myself and end up messing it up.
Also I do not have the contracts for the time of my loans. I registered with experian.co.uk and know when the loan started and I know the account was under my current account that I use today (the payment just went from my account to my flexiloan account).
Would it make a difference if I just gave them the account I use today as they can view the information?
Also would it be easier to speak with the bank concerning this before processing a PPI claim?
I am tempted to do this myself.
Thanks in advance for your response :-)0 -

It's easier than riding and (falling off a bicycle) doing it yourself that is.0 -

I have made a successful claim on HSBC for a flexiloan, although still awaiting payment. I gave them my current account number and they traced my flexiloan account number from that, so should be fine.
Be aware, though, they say they only hold info going back six years, so if your loans are older, without any documentation (statements, etc.), you may struggle.
Much easier to do it yourself, follow the templates and the excellent advise from the experts on here and you won't go far wrong. That way you can do it in your own time and not have to pay somebody 36% of anything you may win for doing nothing.
Best of luck0
