Hi so I am just sorting out Part 1 of my HSBC complaint PPI letter. Just a slight issue though.

I took out a flexiloan on 03/02/2006, following the template. Do I need to specify the T&C for the £5000 flexiloan (or Budget revolving account as creditexpert shows).

here is my letter so far - the account number is my current account as the flexiloan was put in a seperate account under my current account, so am i writing this letter correct?

    Account number: 102*****

I am writing to request a copy and of the credit agreement for the above account under sections 77−79 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974. I enclose payment for £1.

I would also like to request a copy of the terms and conditions that were applicable to the above account at the time I took out my agreement on the 3/02/2006 for a £5000 loan (flexiloan), as I no longer have a copy and would like to check some of the details.

    Thanks
Is the loan closed? if it is then they will not give you the terms and conditions, do you have any paperwork at all for this loan as all you need is the account number and reasons for mis sell, if you have no details at all then you would be better sending a Sar request, ask for all info they hold on you and not just the terms and conditions, enclose £10 and give them 40 days to respond.
As the bank account is with them, just call them and ask if they have any info on you, if you can get to a local branch then go in and ask.

I'm sure this has already been asked by someone but i had a Harrods Store card for years. When i've called about PPI which is clearly on my statements they tell me to call GE Money and THEY tell me to call Santander. All of them claim it's not to do with them. Help! Also i'm trying to do the Experian thing to get my credit history because i have no memory. At the end of the form filling they ask questions like you may or may not have opened a store/credit card on or about October 2001 can you tell us who it was with and how much the limit was. I dont remember what i did last year let alone 11 years ago!! Any advice?

You send the complaint to Harrods, they sold you the loan and the PPI, put it in writing, all you need are reasons for mis sell and the card number.

I had a PPI policy that was bought through a Financial Advisor (Seperate to my Mortgage policy) and although advice was given i felt under pressure to take out the policy - can i claim?

    Post your question here

They know more regarding MPPI as some is not reclaimable.
  • Hi there,

I dont know if anyone has had a similar experience but I am disheartened about claiming back PPI from First Direct. I wrote to them asking for a copy of my credit agreement on my credit card (which has an outstanding balance on it that has subsequently been transferred to a debt collector as I am on a DMP) and they have sent me a letter back saying that as the account is no longer with them, they dont have to send me the credit agreement. Should I just send them a SAR? Any tips very welcome!

Would it make a difference if I just gave them the account I use today as they can view the information?

Also would it be easier to speak with the bank concerning this before processing a PPI claim?
Yes it would, all you need to make a claim are reasons you were mis sold and the account number, fill the form in,walk to the post box and post it to the bank, this is all a claims co will do and take the hefty fee plus Vat, if you need any more help then just ask.

Yes the loan is closed. I no longer have the T&C of the agreed loan. My account number will be the one I am using, it was mis-sold as I didnt even realise I had it, I know because in all honesty I am in a very secure job so I did not take it.

I will give them a call tomorrow and go from there regarding getting information regarding my loan in 2006 and will post on here my progress.

If you are sure you paid PPI and have reasons for mis sell, contact the company that the debt has been passed over to and ask for the card number, just to let you know that if you win, they may take any redress from the win.

If you do not know if you had PPI then send a Sar to the company that you are paying the debt to.

Then again, as you appear to have already sent off a claim presumably on the basis you allege the policy was originally mis-sold, don't bank on being able to claim on the policy now.
The poster is doing a mis sell and is not making a claim on the policy.:)
