    Amersall or moneyineptitude etc
How come I'm relegated to second mention now?;)

Get a claim into Abbey just in case they don't consider the claim that MBNA sent to them, it is possible Abbey are looking at the PPI from when you had the card with them but make sure.

Thanks amersall, I'll contact abbey and follow it up with them and will let you know what happens

By the sounds of it you have got back what you paid, unless they are not including the premiums that you paid to Abbey. I didn't think that these were treated separately and thought that once a bank acquired an account then they were responsible for all elements of it including time before.

Amersall or moneyineptitude etc will be able to explain further.

Thanks for the advice, it's really appreciated

What have you got to lose? Do you have the original document with the £200 loaded? Was it done in the bank? Did you have any other way of paying? Eg employee benefits on sickness etc.

And fill in the questionnaire, be warned however I understand credit cards are the more difficult to claim on.

Thanks for the advice. Like you say, I have nothing to lose!! 1 claim going in and will keep you posted. :)

hi, have just received this back from tesco bank re my ppi claim on credid card and i wander whats the best way to go now any advise would be useful I have been able to confirm that you applied for your credit card by filling out a postal application form.
The application form that you would have completed gave you the option to add Payment Protection lnsuranee to your Credit Card by ticking a box to include your policy. This confirmed you wished to add the policy to your card. I can confirm this option was not preselected and you were able to proceed without the cover if you did not wish to include it on your account. A decision was made by you to include the policy.
i cant remember ticking any box and they have not sent proof that i did.
it then went on to say that they feel i was provided with sufficient information(included in the terms and conditions)to make an informed choice so based on there findings they have refused my application and will not refund premiums.

    thanks

Unfortunately, a postal application is deemed a "non-advised" sale. As you received no advice from Bank staff and proceeded to purchase of your own volition, it will be very difficult to complain of mis-selling when you apparently mis-bought.
The bank say no "pre-ticked" option was used for PPI and this is likely given that pre-ticking was usually a feature only of online sales.
I think you may have to admit defeat on this one, although FOS is still an option if you want to wait months for them to very likely side with the Bank.

You'll have a long wait for a very uncertain result.

I used the forms from this site and received £3600 on 3 loans I didn't realise I had had.I knew I had had PPI on one but not all of them. My claim and offer were dealt with within 6 wks and the money was in my bank within 1 wk. My bank was LloydsTSB.
I had previously tried direct with the bank but was unsuccessful as did not have all the information such as loan account numbers etc. When i filled in the PPI claim form I ticked the 'don'y know' boxes and got my money back so am really pleased. It's well worth trying even if your not owed anything. It only costs the price of a stamp.

My loans were only £1000 each and I received a payment of £1200 for each loan.
