It's well worth trying even if your not owed anything. It only costs the price of a stamp.
As much as it is a nice idea to claim if your not owed anything I think it would constitute making a fraudulent claim and therefore may get you into serious trouble. Plus those who do make a claim when it is not valid hold up others who have a valid claim, it is only advisable to apply for it if you were missold.

hello, Im totally new to all of this and have been using the site to download the forms etc to claim for PPI - I found that I had PPI through HFC bank for a DFS sofa, which had been ticked by the salesperson - I have personal illness and accident cover already so I did not need the PPI on this loan (and never got any paperwork or policy number with any details). I paid the loan off in full after the 1 year payment free period, so I dont think I actually paid any PPI on the loan - I dont know if Im entitled to claim for this one or not (dont want to fraud or waste time before I go and track down all my other credit cards etc)?? Any advice please!

I would imagine that if you made only one payment after the 1 year it is unlikely you paid PPI unless it was front loaded. If the amount you paid = the amount your sofas cost then I would think you are in the clear.
If the amount you paid is more than the sofas were meant to cost in the shop then it may be a different matter.

Yes, if it doesn't show on your monthly statement you don't have it.

It is a separate amount that appears on your statement each month. It is not hidden in the interest payments as some might lead you to believe.
    EDIT!!!
Whoops some genius beat me to it!!!!

  • Hi

I have completed the PPI Consumer Questionnaire and I'm just wondering if I send this Questionnaire to Argos Card Services and Santander Cards UK Limited for my PPI Claim?

    Many Thanks
  • I've had a Lloyds TSB Mastercard since Dec 1996. In Oct 1999 PPI payments started without intervention on my part. I phoned to query these and was told that I had no choice, that opting out was not an option.
I never received any documentation about this PPI which is still being charge to date.
I downloaded the template claim form from the "ppi-credit-card-insurance" page (PPI-consumer-questionnaire.doc), but it seems totally inappropriate. All the questions are geared towards PPI on loans.
Is there a template specifically for credits cards please?
