You will both need to sign the complaint and the refund if you win, will be in joint names so let them know that you want 2 50/50 refunds.
If you paid the PPI in with the loan monthly payment, this is Single Premium PPI and this is the reason you use for the mis sell.

Send the complaint to the dealer you bought the bike from if they arranged the finance, if you took a loan from the bank to buy the bike then you send the complaint to the bank.

I'm not 100% sure on this, but I believe the ppi was financed upfront - on the financial info it lists a cash price for ppi, which is then included in the total cash price. The interest payable on the ppi is on a separate section of the agreement.

Just to clarify, even though I was the one who made all payments I should apply for a 50/50 split - not that my parents are going to screw me over on the refund. :p

I believe my compaint is with the dealer as they sold it to me.

    Thanks for your help.
  • Around 2003/2004 my son entered into an IVA having amassed around £22K in debts, through credit cards, due to irresponsible lending and his gullibility.
After he had made his repayments on a regular basis for a couple of years I finally came to an agreement to pay off the IVA for a set amount to clear the scheme. This I did and he was discharged from his liability.
As he defaulted on his credit cards and entered into the IVA would this invalidate any possible application he might have for PPI?

Yes, i'm sure they can't really help you without it. I had all of my papers for my loans (I tend to file things like that away in one of my bed drawers forever more :D) so I didn't need to phone them but if you just call the loan company and ask them, they should know all the details by you giving your name and address.

In fact, one of my friends phoned a credit card company and she said she wants to make a claim for her old PPI payments and the guy said to her that he will pass the details onto their PPI department and she got £5k and all it took was one phone call!

If you can't remember who you had the loans with then you can get a credit check done through Experian for a few pounds and that will list all of your credit cards, loans going back xxx number of years (not sure how many).

It makes it easier and quicker if you have all the details to hand rather than sending a letter or the form off and relying on the loan company to sort that out for you.

I would phone them and tell them you want to make a claim for old PPI payments (they will have a special department for it, just look it up on the internet) and get the details, asking for the reference number (or whatever they call it) the date you took the loan and the date it finished.

    You are welcome x.
This is Single Premium PPI if you did not make a separate payment each month to the PPI so get the complaint in.

When you do the complaint let them know that you want 50/50 as you are parent and child and do not have a joint bank account, this will save time if you win, with a joint loan and PPI regardless of who pays the loan, the cheque is in joint names, you need to clarify this to them from the get go.

He can claim the PPI but they may take anything he wins from the debt remaining after the IVA was paid off early for a set figure as the banks are still owed money they are right to take this back.

It is possible they won't do this but you won't know until the claims are made.

The PPI policy number is not needed, the claim can be made with the account number.

The poster has started a new thread regarding this and they are going to do Sar request to see if they can get the account numbers x.

No, you can skip straight to complaint if you already know the account numbers and have valid complaint reasons.

    EDIT: Amersall got there first.

  • Hi. I need HELP! Over the years we have had lots of credit cards, and loans. I read about reclaiming PPI on here, and got my experian credit report, and looked through it all. I called my current bank, and successfully reclaimed PPI on two loans (£1500)! WHOOP! Now, this is where it gets difficult. I rang EVERY credit card that we'd had over the last 6 years, and my old mortgage account, as we have no paperwork/records of PPI on them. We asked whether or not we had PPI on the old accounts. They ALL said no. What I am trying to figure out is whether or not they are lying, and I should persue them all, or whether or not they HAVE to confess to PPI..........Thanks and appreciation to any replies.
  • hi im a bit confused about my ppi offer from black horse.

I have recieved an offer for £158.40

the calculation is as follows -

    refund of premiums £952.30
    less arrears on loan -£4313,97
    interest at 8% £198
    less tax -£39.60
    total £158.40

It explains in the letter that they propose to use the refund of ppi premiums to help reduce the arrears and that if i didnt wish them to do this i need to give them a call.
Does this mean that i have an option of them paying me all the refund and that based on the above calculations i could receive much more.
At the moment i could do with the hard cash having just been made redundant.
hope some one can help ?
