Can someone please tell me if they have had a rejected claim from Lloyds TSB ? If so is this standard? Should I write to them again or the FOS? Should I give up?
Thanks for any help you can give.0 -
Hi there, im new to the forum and have been reading some of the posts here hoping for some advise myself
I have recently sent PPI claims to both Toyota Financial Services and Hitachi. Both accounts still open; The Hitachi agreement was taken out 3 years ago and is due to end this december, their reply to my claim was that of cancelling the PPI from now?? No mention of reinbursment. Where do i go now?
The toyota agreement was taken December 2007 and is also due to end this december, their reply to my claim was this "all customers who spread their cost of their vehicle purchase, we were obliged to offer you to protect yourself against unexpected future financial loss, we provided you with a summary of cover. The cover you chose was life and unemployment cover and you signed the statement to confirm this. It would seem unlikely you could make this choice without sight of the summary of cover" I have always said no to PPI as have previously been told it wasnt necessary by family members who worked for banks. With Hitachi it was sold to me as accidental cover stating that if the item needed repairing all i needed to do was call them and it would be fixed at no extra cost, as for the Toyota PPI i have no recollection although i signed the agreement.
Please where do i stand with this?0 -
sent off letter 1 and got my terms n conditions (dated 2001), sent 2nd letter and got statements going back to 2009 [when they issued me a new card - with a different number to the previous one].
Why can't they join the dots and assume I want the statements for the previous incarnation of the card as well (and no I don't remember the card number)? or are they being deliberately unhelpful? is there a template letter that might cover this?0 -
Have you had the redress yet? it is possible they will give you the extra 8% on the total redress, if you do not get more, then contact FOS and complain to them about the 8%.
The bank should give you the extra 8% when you get the whole PPI back, if they did not then they have not done this correctly, they would not tell you to go to FOS if they have done this right.
Accept the offer, if the 8% is not correct when they give you the money then you can complain to FOS.
No I havent yet because they need the signed acceptance form back first.
In their letter they say I have said the amount offered in terms of the 8% interest is incorrect and I would like it to be recalculated. They then say that they can confirm it is correct and they will not be amending their offer. This is what they have offered:
first offer (ppi amount wrong)
PPI premiums paid £228.60
8% compensation on ppi paid £208.88
total redress: £437.48
second offer (amended ppi amount)
PPI premiums paid £938.53
8% compensation on ppi paid £208.88
total redress: £1147.41
I dont understand why they wont recalculate the 8% interest!!
What should I do??0 -
:TI was exactly the same. I had a couple of loans in 2001-2003 around about £13000. I paid them off by 2008. I did not know if I had pip on these loans- my memory is shot.anyhow I called HSBC and started by saying, ihad a couple of loans, can you tell me if there was pip added to them. She said yes you had two loans both with pip do you want to make a claim. She sent me a form, I completed it with no facts, no paperwork They sent me a letter yesterday offering me £6,327. I'm a happy bunny. Go for it, just call them, they have all the details and are just waiting for you to make contact. Good luckOk i'll start,
I have not made a claim yet and after reading this board am thinking seriously about claiming.
I had two loans from HSBC over the years both having PPI, I just cant remmeber about how I agreed to them or anything, so im at a loss on what to say about my claim.
Also I have an HSBC credit card, I have been paying PPI for many years on this and did not realise I was paying this until a few months ago, I then promptly cancelled it.
A person on another thread said he just called there customer services and put in a claim over the phone.
I'm totally thick when it comes to things like this and not sure what to say, any help in what i say and any other help would be appreciated.
Thanks

I am very, very new to this!
I sent letters to various credit card companies, Mortgage, catologue and loan companies to request a copy of the original loan agreement. I also sent a cheque for £1 with each letter. That was two weeks ago and I haven't had a reply from one company and not one of the cheques has been cashed. I would welcome advice on what to do next??0 -
Hi all
i got myself into some real financial difficulty.
probably to long a tale to disscuss here.
mbna have sold their debt on to link financial outsourcing a credit card whose balance currently stands at £5200.
someone said have i thought of claiming back the PPi so i sent for the Terms and conditions, i had not asked for payment protection the boxes were not ticked also i am self employed and have been all the time i have had the card the balance was always at its limit(4000) from febuary 2002 and the payment protection had been paid from that date.(all payments made on time till last year)
i have also had two loans with payment protection that i had not asked for i phoned MBNA they have me down as selfemployed when i took out the loans.
one £15000 for 5 years took out in 2002 and another for £8700 for 3 years took out 2006. they have emailed there claims deparment and said they will be sending a letter out.
so here goes with my question do you think i have case for miselling on the grounds i did not ask for the ppi and that i was selfemployed.
if so will it be enough to clear the balance of the card which is in the hands of the county court link ,have agreed not to go for judgment while i try to claim (time limit four weeks)
any help would be really appreciated0 -

As i said on the previous post alexxandra i've had the same now to the point where they not only denied i had ppi but even denied I had the cards, I escalated it to fos and are still waiting for adjudication but being self employed, told I needed it to get the credit cards and finding proof I should be fine, fos this, this is a bank where being reasonable works only one way.0 -
