    Hi all,
    looking for some advice. I have contacted a number of institutions regarding miselling of PPI. I've had a few replies now from HFC Bank, Yorkshire Bank, Halifax. HFC Bank have sent me a questionnaire to fill in regarding my claim. The questions are things such as;

"Were you advised or was it recommended to take out the insurance?"
"What information were you verbally provided with concerning the policy?"
"What questions were you asked by the salesperson?"

As the policy was linked to a credit card I took out in 1994 it's impossible to recall any specifics of my application. What I am sure of is that I never knowingly agreed to purchase ppi at the time I took out the card. Has anyone else had the same circumstances? If so is stating that I never knowingly agreed to purchase ppi during the application process a strong enough answer to support my claim?

    Thanks in advance.

Can someone please tell me if they have had a rejected claim from Lloyds TSB ? If so is this standard? Should I write to them again or the FOS? Should I give up?

Thanks for any help you can give.

Was this a loan or Credit card and what were the reasons they rejected?.

Hi there, im new to the forum and have been reading some of the posts here hoping for some advise myself
I have recently sent PPI claims to both Toyota Financial Services and Hitachi. Both accounts still open; The Hitachi agreement was taken out 3 years ago and is due to end this december, their reply to my claim was that of cancelling the PPI from now?? No mention of reinbursment. Where do i go now?
The toyota agreement was taken December 2007 and is also due to end this december, their reply to my claim was this "all customers who spread their cost of their vehicle purchase, we were obliged to offer you to protect yourself against unexpected future financial loss, we provided you with a summary of cover. The cover you chose was life and unemployment cover and you signed the statement to confirm this. It would seem unlikely you could make this choice without sight of the summary of cover" I have always said no to PPI as have previously been told it wasnt necessary by family members who worked for banks. With Hitachi it was sold to me as accidental cover stating that if the item needed repairing all i needed to do was call them and it would be fixed at no extra cost, as for the Toyota PPI i have no recollection although i signed the agreement.

Please where do i stand with this?

The Hitachi one covered against repairs, this may not be claimable as a mis sell as the item would have been repaired had you damaged it, you could contact them if you did not need this cover and feel that it was mis sold and ask that you be paid this cover back, when you took this cover, was it separate to the loan agreement and was it fully explained to you?.

With the Toyota one, did you pay one payment each month to this loan and PPI and not a separate payment for the PPI? if you did, this is Single Premium PPI and this is the reason for mis sell that you use, this was a loan on the loan paid to term end with interest, if you cancelled the PPI they would have given you a pro rata rebate of the PPI and the remaining PPI is still on the loan to term end.

If you settled this loan early then, as above, you would have a pro rata rebate and you would have paid back the remaining PPI in with the settlement figure.

If the above applies to your loan then write back to Toyota and reject the reasons for them not upholding due to the Single Premium and also if you already had life cover elsewhere.

Any questions that you are not sure of then put that you cannot remember, you could use the fact that you did not knowingly agree to purchase this product, it is possible that you were sold this PPI at a later date over the telephone, you need to show that you had no need of this PPI if you could have paid this card back should the worst happen and also if you had life insurance or a generous sick benefit if you were out of work.

Hi i've been looking how to reclaim ppi, I have a Capital One Credit card and i have been paying ppi for years, I have online statements but that's all, What can i do next ?
Also i have loans and credit cards that have ppi but i'm in debt management with cccs, how do i go about getting the info from the original companies, hsbc loan, virgin cc, ryan air cc, egg loan etc.
Any help would be brill, Thank you

If you have the card numbers or loan account numbers and reasons for mis sell then put the claims in, you can get the info on the accounts that were passed over to debt collectors if you call them and ask for this, failing that just contact each bank and ask if they can find you.

If you win redress, this will go towards to the debts, any surplus after the arrears have been paid will come to you.

    Hi All
This is my first post and i'm hoping you all can give me a bit of advice
I took out a secured loan in 2005 with what i thought was Barclays but everyone i speak to is at First Plus.
I've put in a claim of ppi charges with First Plus but they are now saying the loan was brokered by loans.co.uk who i have never heard of or had any correspondance from
Where do i go from here ?

You send the complaint to loans.co.uk ask FP and they should give you the address, what year was this loan taken out and did you get the cashback.

:money: Hi Martin and people I have just checked my old First Plus loan by telephoning them and asking did i have ppi on loan as it was cleared several years ago they say Yes with Suma Services never even heard of them I did not want this insurance but they did say at time on phone that if I didnt have ppi i would risk chance of not getting the loan First Plus has sent me a final letter saying suma sevices are np longer trading so thats that and will be forwarding my info to the ombudsman, how do i come off if the ppi people have finished and no tel No or address? is that the end of my claim? I just think First plus have got away with this if this is so?

If this loan was on or before the 14th Jan 05 then the FSCS can help you, if it was before this date then you need to find out who the insurer was and make the claim to them, if they say " no " then ask if FOS can help you.

    Hi, i need help.
I applied for a loan roughly 3 years ago but was refused by my bank but then the lady I spoke 2 offered me some kind of insurance that i didn't totally understand. I think the gist of it was if I was ever unable 2 work because of bad health then I need not worry as I was covered if I paid this monthly fee. I didnt really want it but she was quite forceful & made it seem foolish if i declined.
My question is, is this ppi?
    Linzi

What does it say on the agreement and did you pay this in one monthly payment each month that included the loan payment?.

    Evening All,

I'm wondering if u think I could have a claim for this. A number of years ago I booked an appointment with a Halifax loan advisor to cancel my PPI, when I arrived I was faced with a panel of 4 people who proceeded to grill as to why I wanted to cancel. They also asked whether my parents were wealthy as did I realise that if I died my debt would pass to my parents to pay off.

Needless to say I didn't cancel my PPI!
Is this worth persuing or is PPI claiming just for taking out at the beginning of a loan?

    Thanks
