PPI Reclaiming Discussion Part 5

Hi there
Many have been successful with making reclaims even from even older accounts, do give it a go, as long as you have your reasons and details of the accounts in order for them to try tracking them down.
Reclaim questionnaire complaint forms below, send to whoever sold and arranged you the policy, head office or complaints, remember to keep copies, good luck.
Thanks Di. I downloaded the questionnaire yesterday and have a feeling that I could be filling out a fair few of them lol.
Most of the early ones that I mentioned were with RBS and I still bank with them. While I clearly remember taking out PPI on the credit cards, the more I think about the loans I took out with RBS I can't honestly remember whether PPI was discussed and I'm wondering whether it was just included as a matter of course. Same goes for an MBNA loan for £10,000 I took out over 5 years in 2001. That was done over the phone and the repayments were around £247 a month and I'm quite sure I paid PPI on it as 60 x £247 = £14820.
Predictably, as these go back a long time I no longer have any paperwork relating to them. My memory is pretty good with regards to dates, etc, but I take it that with these being well known banks that I'm claiming against that they should be able to help me with regards to any other information I'm missing?0 -

Hi and your welcome
If you have so many credit cards (PPI) taken out with the same bank/business, and you can ask them to look at all of them the same time with just one reclaim questionnaire, but if loan ppi do separate ppi reclaims from the credit card ppi reclaims.
There is one way where you can "try" to retrieve data from your accounts, you could request a Subject Access Request (SAR) this is optional of course, and only one SAR with a one off payment of £10 cheque or postal order is sufficient to cover for all loans and credit cards taken out with the same business.
For example, if any of them were with the bank, you send the one SAR letter with just the one above stated payment and they have up to 40 calendar days to comply.
I was lucky to receive data even going back from the 90's, even though it may differ from one business to the other, but it may be a help for you.
There is a SAR letter template below if you want to do this, it's up to you of course.;)

Thanks again Di. Do I send the SAR letter to RBS head office in Edinburgh? And for MBNA, do I send it to their address in Chester?

Hi just wanted to check out this question before I abandon my claim all together with abbey for 1996-2001
I recieved my SAR from MBNA today and although they have detailed refs for 2001 to date there is very little before this date. I hoped it would show more for previous period when it was an abbey credit card
MBNA have reimbursed me from 2001 to date and please do not think I am being greedy when chasing up other years. The way Santander spoke to me on the phone made me feel like I was begging or making the whole thing up
Basicially they want prove of ppi and payments for 96-01 and although I have bank statements showing each monthly payments they do not give break down of any ppi.
On looking at sar docs there is little to show but there is a computer page when they changed the credit card from abbey in sept 2001 and it gives the card nos and expiry date for the old card and states quite clearly there is ppc on card
do I send this through with my bank statements or just let it go...0 -
Hello ,
I just want to ask regarding my PPI to Santander ,original I took my loan from Alliance & Leicester by November 2005 which £6000 with apr of 9.4% for 36 mos, PPI was roughly £900-£1000+,(sorry I can't remember the exact amount as unluckyly I lost all the paperworks when I about to send the additional information to them) but I paid off the loan after 9 mos as I took another loan to pay it off. Every month I am paying £220.47 including the PPI.And then I found out that on the final statement of that loan it shows rebate of £500+ for that PPI. I received a letter last week they offering me £691.72, but I turned down the offer because I believe it is not the right amount. Is it right to turned down the offer? or the offer is right? How much I suppose to receive?
Please help... thank you very much...0 -
Hi all, this is my first post, I had a hire purchase on a car which I bought in 2002, I settled the agreement in 2007. The finance company have since apparently sold on a few times, although I have contacted the current company, they have confirmed on the phone that there was PPI added onto the agreement, however they tell me that because the main dealer garage that I purchased the car were the ones that sold me the finance it is up to them to settle any refunds, having written to them they rudely have dismissed any liability, can anyone offer some advice.
regards

Hi, I could do with a little advice.
I took out a CC like loan and a personal loan with BOS in late 90's, the CC was later turned into a loan and then both later got consolidated. There are a string of A/C numbers, some of which I don't have and it's difficult to know what ties in with what. A year ago I went with Gladstone Brookes (I know!!). Recently BOS sent £400. I was led to believe by GB that more was to follow, GB then said that's it and want to close the claim.
I think I'm due more, I have spoken to GB but they just say that's it!
Questions, are GB just pulling out cause it's too much bother? Will BOS listen to me if I now go to them direct? Do I start a new claim or ring BOS to find out details? Will GB claim I am still under contract to them? they say not.
Any ideas? I can give more details.VSP # 171

Hiya
You are welcome
Yes I believe they are the correct addresses to use, although you can add to the letter "FAO to data dept" to make sure they forward your request on.
Any probs let us know, good luck.:)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Was this Single Premium PPI and did you use this as a reason for mis sell?.
If you had no PPI on the other loans then use that as a reason, you have not taken this previous so why now?.
Hi Amersall,
Thanks for the reply.
It was a single premium and still turned down!:(
I will add that I didn't take PPI with my bank loan, as another reason. Just trying to gather as much relevent info as possible.
Wish me luck!0 -
I have just received a confirmation letter from the bank ref my PPI complaint. or should I say 3 letters? The first 2 arrived yesterday in the same envelope, same worded letter Sorry to hear about your complaint Blah Blah Blah, but both had a different reference number on top. Then today I received another one same wording but with another reference number. Made the complaint over the phone last week. confused as to why 3 letters with different reference numbers?0
