Hiya this is my first post on here. Its great reading people sucess stories! I decided to take up my ppi claims last week after my partners bank manager called to say he wanted to persue a ppi claim for him and then found 3 other accounts linked to him.
Ive got 3 claims put in dating back to 2003 with all credit cards still open (barclays £800, barclays/egg £500 and lloyds £1000 still on the balance. Ive figured out Ive paid approx £4000 in ppi over the ten years. I never even new I had it till I sat and read my statements. At the time I opened the cards I was a student and was not working so Im hoping this will work on my behalf.
Filled on my complains over the phone and it couldnt have been easier. Barclays were really helpful and it was a very easy process.
Im just waiting to here whether I have been sucessful. I havent got a clue how much I may be entitled to and havent got the foggiest how to..fingers crossed I win my claim!!!PPI Claims won £3000:j now free of all credit card debt after 10 years.
Will I win my Lloyds battle!!!
Currently saving for our wedding and what seems like a million other things":)0 -
I originally got a credit card from Morgan Stanley, it has since been taken over by Barclay Card should this cause any extra problems claiming PPI?0

Has anyone experienced a similar situation, are they likely to keep the money?0 -
Hello all you lovely people, I am an avid lurker on this board and after reading this thread I completed the PPI form for a previous Halifax loan that we had. We paid the loan off a year early so wasn't expecting too much if anything. On Saturday we received a letter with 3 cheques for a total of £8192.98 :j
I just want to say a big mahoosive thank you to you all :kisses3:as without this thread I wouldn't have had the knowledge or the courage to complete and send the form, and I would also like to encourage any other lurkers like myself to go ahead and do it, you have nothing to lose and a lot to gain
Thank You, Thank You, Thank You,:beer:0 -
Hi, trying to get the ball rolling with claiming on ppi's on my husbands old credit cards. The only problem is he doesn't have any account numbers!!
We have done the credit report to get the last 4 digits of the account numbers. I am now trying to find out how to contact the banks in order to get account numbers. The banks are:
MBNA Europe
Barclaycard
American express Europe
I found an address in Chester for MBNA, and we could just go in Barclays, but stuck on American express, can anyone please help???0 -
I'm about to start the ball rolling on various PPI claims but could do with a little advice if possible.
Back in my younger, more naive days I had PPI on all my loans and credit cards as I always believed the blurb that it was "strongly recommended" I should take it out and that was enough to scaremonger me into having PPI. These go back as far as 1994 when I got my first credit cards - GM Card and an RBS mastercard.
Firstly, Can I claim back as far as 1994? And secondly, I'm not going to lie and say I didn't know I had PPI on any of these products because I did, but like I say the way it was worded to me on credit card applications and face-to-face discussions when taking out loans pressured me into taking it out. Is this enough grounds for a claim?
I dread to think how much I've forked out in PPI down the years - could be £10,000 or more when taking loans into account - so any advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.0
