    Hello!

Been trying to read as much as I can on this board (great stuff!)

can someone please confirm I have got this right in my head?

My T&C's on my loan shows the following,

    Loan repayment
    £69.00 per month

    Insurance repayment
    £9.95 per month

    Total Monthly payments x 24
    £78.95
This is the Direct debit figure I paid each month. £69.00 + £9.95 = £78.95

Is this what you would describe as a front loaded Single Premium Insurance?

    Thanks
    Newbie.

    Hi goonlecker,

Yes you are right, it is single premium.

    Hi everyone,

Well I got HFC to agree to pay back the total amount of Ppi on the loan even though it was passed to a debt collector part way through. However, they are not paying the full 8% interest on it. They only offered 8% on the payments I made to them, not the premiums I paid to the dca!!!!

    What are they playing at?
  • Hi guys,

Wondered if I could ask a couple of questions for clarification.

I've had two personal loans with Lloyds TSB in the past - both for £1,000 over 1 year. I was sold PPI on both loans (despite my monthly income being higher than the loan amount at the time, combined with a generous sick pay package that would cover me for up to 6 months) under the guise of it being very important to ensure that I do not enter arrears with my loan should the worst happen. I was not told I -had- to take PPI out but it was strongly advised. Would this constitute mis-sold PPI, or my own personal stupidity?

    Thanks in advance.
  • Hello there.

Back in 2003 we started our mortgage with Lloyds Tsb.

I work in Local Govt, my Wife for the NHS, we stated more than once and quite forcefully, that we didn't want the ppi on our mortgage as we were in secure jobs.

We took out the critical illness cover, but were adamant that the ppi wasn't needed, but after the advisor banging on for ages and suggesting the amount of the loan would be easier to get with the security of ppi, we gave in somewhat reluctantly, it was only on checking last month what this policy related to that we remembered we actually had it and the circumstances surrounding it.

It's approximately £30 a month dating back to March 2003, I've fired in a complaint, would anyone be able to offer a % chance of success guess?

    Thanks.
  • Hi,

I have started the process of re-claiming my PPI but was wondering if I will get anything.

I have had several loans and fell into arrears with them all in 2006, I entered into a debt management scheme and paid the agreed amounts off each loan until June 2011, I then cancelled the debt management scheme and contacted all of my lenders, surprisingly they agreed for me to make partial settlement offers and close all of the accounts.

I have checked my credit report and all accounts are showing as satisfied and I have confirmation from my lenders that the accounts have been closed, in total I had approx £15k wiped off my debts.

My question is, if the lenders look into my claim will they refund me the PPI or use it to pay off the outstanding balances even tho the accounts have been partially settled and closed?

    Hi,

Just wanted to let everyone know about MBNA timescales.

I sent a complaint letter to them on the 05/04/2012 and received a letter back about 2 weeks later advising me of their 28 day turn around. Around 28 days later I received a letter to say it would be a further 14 days. As I had not received a response I emailed them and was told I would hear back within 7 days at the lastest. 8 Days later I have received a response to say they have lost my complaint!

I am now having to resubmit my complaint 10 weeks after the original was sent. Great Service

    Hi,

I am looking at doing a reclaim for my hubby on an Asda credit card but I am a bit confused. The card is an Asda one but looks like it is adminstered by Santander ( I have a feeling previously they were GE money?), my questions are do I write to Asda first or Santander & is "balance cancellation premium" the same as PPI?

Sorry to seem so thick - any help greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

Will they use it to pay off the outstanding balances even tho the accounts have been partially settled and closed?
Yes, they are entitled to do this.
  • :(:(:( well am new to this forum- read lots before but never replied. Can anyone advise what to do next? Short version = mis-sold mortgage ppi 2002 - was a policy paid for by tagging onto remortgage. Must be so stupid as didn't realise consequences- policy was only for 5 years(found that out when trying to make a claim this year, off work for 3 months) and co. went into liquidation 2yrs ago. Told there aren't any funds left, FOS and then FSCS both say outside time limit to 2005 so tough chips really. Shouldn't ombudsman be there for people with complicated claims? Weren't any use to me when endowment case claim was rejected cos of time limit.Oh and still paying mortgage of course. And to really wind me up, company in liquidation was a ltd one but still trading with same name(obviously without ltd) same logo, web address and saying in business since '98:cry::cry::cry:
