just phoned lloyds tsb said i rejected the letter as it was a single premium ppi they said " thats fine they have investigated my claim and wont look at it again i i dont like it feel free to complain to the fos"
anybody got a template or any advise for the next stage please0 -
Hi hope i'm posting in correct place, as I am new to this.
Thinking of claiming back ppi as over the years I have had credit cards HSBC, CAPITAL ONE, ARGOS CARD,CAR with AVAILABLE CAR, LOAN with SAINSBURY.
All of these are from over 10 years ago, but some paid up about 6 years ago. I got into debt with some of these and cancelled ppi myself after some time when falling behind with payments. The debts were then transferred to collection agencies. Would this affect me being able to claim? All debts were paid in full and completly cleared.:j
My other major problem is I moved house and no longer have any paper work for any of these. Not sure where to start, Been on my credit report and these are no longer showing due to the age. Also been to bank to trace d debits and hsbc said" They don't hold the copies because they are to old"
Sorry this is long but, any help would be much apprieciated as I don.t know where to start :mad:0 -

hi everyone - Im new here although i used to come on a lot many years ago when I was in a lot of debt... this has all gone now and 6 years later debt free... This is my question though, I have got my current credit report as I am sure I had many ppi agreements due to the amount of loans and cc s I took and the fact that I was your average salesmans dream.... As all these settled accounts are now off my history just over 6 years ago and I cant remeber who they were with bar my actual bank and the fact I had a loan with them. I have no details from back then at all. Is there anyway of finding out who I had accounts with from a 6 - maybe 12 year period, any help would be much appreciated.0

Hi all,
HSBC sent me a questionnaire to complete re missold PPI and on 23rd April they sent me a letter to say that they would reply in 4 weeks with an update and I would be given a redress summary in 8 weeks. 6 weeks later and no update, I rang the 'direct line' they gave on the letter which is just a recorded message saying 'don't worry, we will contact you shortly'!!
Also sent the questionnaire from this site off to Cap1 - I am expecting a 'Sod off' reply from them, when I shall take it further, I have been paying them at least £10 a month for at least 5 years!
Any ideas how long these may take?
Many thanks for your help0 -
Thanks for your reply moneyineptitude, part of the problem is that I canta remember some of the lenders at all and I know its just over 6 years that the accounts were settlled. I have written to the 2 I can remember but there were definately quite a few more.0

Can you post what the letter actually said regarding the PPI and have they given you copies of the agreements or just figures?, they should have Loan amount, PPI amount, interest, monthly payment and Loan term on your agreement, if they have said they do not legally have to put PPI on the Loan agreement, I can only assume this PPI was paid separately to the Loan and there is other paperwork somewhere for this insurance.
I requested the data on his behalf they have sent a massive pack of paperwork that makes little sense to me as it's codes and numbers.
There is details of loan payments but nothing for the PPI, even though he knows he has paid it for yeears.
They have failed to provide data for one of the loans as it was pre 1994 and two of the credit cards from 1998 and a credit card which closed in 2005.
Im not sure what I need too write back.Fantastic Expectations Amazing Revelations0 -
Can I just ask why are you requesting details? Is this to check whether they had ppi or not?
If your unsure, fill out a questionaire anyway with the account numbers and send it in, they will find all the information for you, whether u had ppi or not it will still be investigated and any other linked loans etc..[/QUO
My mams other half has been paying PPI for years without realising. He's almost 60 and has never questioned it until I looked at his accounts. He says he never asked for it and has been in constant employment. We have sucessfully claimed for one of this credit cards but we are struggling to get the correct details for his loansFantastic Expectations Amazing Revelations0
